A friend in my mothers' group just lost one of her twins at around 27 weeks gestation. They had Twin to Twin Transfer Syndrome and after surgery a few weeks ago everything was looking good for a 30 week delivery. Now this has happened. I just feel awful for her and wish there was something I could do

Thats so sad all i would offer or do is be there.... when you see her just hug her tight and tell her your there for her and her husband .
Has she any other children ?

Make her some meals you can freeze.....
Help with her house stuff (you know those things that just need doing) like the beds general tidy up etc ...

Cry with her talk about her babies if she wants too ... go with her cues ..

I hope that helps and make sure her DH is ok as well

That is very sad, will be thinking of your friend. I second the meals thing, was a huge help to us.

Oh phebee that's so sad, a very similar thing happened to a friend from my mothers group with ds1. Though they did surgery to delivery the small baby early and accidentally cut an artery of the healthy baby and they ended up BOTH passing away!!
What the others suggested are good ideas, just be aware that unless you are really close she may not actually want you doing much to help even with your best intentions. Perhaps you could offer to take her older child to the park or something as I presume he/she should be around the same age as your dd??

I'd love to do that but it's 40 degrees all week I'm having trouble with my own DD ATM cause of the heat now bad timing! Not that any timing is good, but you know... Maybe a play centre?

That's a good idea... Bummer that it is school holidays though play centres will all be packed. Maybe even just an hour at the shops or maccas perhaps if they drink juice yet??
