Has anyone had a history of one-off annovulatory cycles and know whether ovarian cysts could be a cause?
I'm having my first ever (to my knowledge) annovulatory cycle - confirmed by blood test. I had regular cycles from March 2012, when my implanon was removed -27/28 day cycles. My last CD1 was on November 19. I went to USA in early December. I came back and had a doctors appointment on 28 December and it was confirmed by blood test that I (fortunately) am not pregnant and that my hormone levels are consistent with dysfunctional uterine bleeding (annovulatory cycle). Apparently my period could arrive tomorrow, or at any time.
It's now CD41 and I'm a bit over it. I'd like my period to arrive (or the bleed, which it technically will be because there's no ovulation).
I do have a history of ovarian cysts , two of which were removed via laparoscopy. I'm curious if anyone knows whether an ovarian cyst could have caused the annovulatory cycle?
Any thoughts or suggestions? I'd like to get back to normal!
I would ask for a scan just to check and make sure.
As a PCOS sufferer we get lots of annovulatory cycles and everytime I've had a scan - due to abdominal pain - it shows more cysts have formed. But if you have never had cycle issues before it could be the start of a cyst forming.
