I have a couple of questions about ageing and I have shared my answers also.
1. How old are you (if you don't mind sharing)? I'm 31
2. How do you feel about getting older? I don't mind getting older, but I do feel I look older than I am.
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Yes, I have definitely noticed! I started noticing a little bit, when I looked back at old photo's compared to now, but over the last few months I have really noticed I have aged around my eyes, I have shocking eye wrinkles when I smile.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I used to just use oil of olay. Now I use bio oil around my eyes before I apply the moisuriser. I'm not sure what I should use there's that many products on the market! I considered getting botox, but I can't afford to do it regularly, so I'm not sure there's any point. I still might do it just once and see what difference it makes.
2. How do you feel about getting older? I hate it. But I always get told I look younger than I am.
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Yes, but only slightly. I notice Waaay more in my body. I am all stiff and sore all the time and I make noises when i bend over now Lol. I started noticing my face about the age of 27. My body about 5 years ago.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I NEVER go to bed with make-up on and I clean and moisturise morning and night. But other than that, nothing fancy. I just use aveeno on my face too.
1. How old are you (if you don't mind sharing)? I'm 32
2. How do you feel about getting older? quite happy, I'm excited that my career is happening now and I still feel young and enthusiastic enough to be excited by this
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Yes, I have forehead wrinkles and I thoroughly dislike my enlarged pores.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? I used a facial wipe/make-up remover for aged skin (recommended for age 45 + but I figure it's never too early . I also use a moisturiser with SPF 30+ every day including in winter, and I exfoliate most days in the shower.
2. How do you feel about getting older? Okayish, mostly in denial. I still think of myself as 25. I'm one of those who sits in front of the TV and says to DH "Surely I am younger than her?" lol
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Yes, it's much drier now and less bouncy. Does that make sense? Less resilient than it used to be. Pigmentation from pregnancy has not been kind to me.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I cleanse, rosehip oil and moisturise at night and cleanse and moisturise in the morning. On weekends I use an SPF 30 tinted moisturiser and if I'm going to be in the sun during the week I use the same under my makeup.
2. How do you feel about getting older? It doesn't bother me at the moment but I am dreading reaching my 60's due to all the health issues that seem to arise in my family by then, moreso than looks. I don't have a lot of time to think about that though so it's not an issue yet.
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Yes I have notices some small lines around my eyes in the last year or so. I notice my hands a lot. Often in the afternoons they get all puffy & gross and the skin is starting to get some small age spots.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? No, not really. I put moisteriser on my face & hands in winter if I remember. I use an antibacterial face wash but not sure if it helps as my pimples are due to PCOS.
2. How do you feel about getting older? Ageing as such doesn't bother me. What does bother me is that the older I get, more quickly time seems to pass. It saddens me that this fabulous part of my life is just flashing by, even though I try as hard as I can to enjoy the little stuff.
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Definitely more lines around my eyes and neck, but otherwise not really. I've always been pretty good with sun protection, and have a fairly good skin care routine
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? Yep. I swear by Estee Lauder skin care products. They're exxy to start with, but they last a long time and I love how they work. I haven't really changed it much over the years, but I should probably look more at the old fart's range rather than the current one I'm using ;-)
1. How old are you (if you don't mind sharing)? I'm 36
2. How do you feel about getting older?I don't mind the getting older part, it's the things I haven't acheived by this age that I have issue with.
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? I have always been told I look younger than I am (that silly facebook app says I look 30), I don't really have wrinkles, a couple of tiny ones near my eyes maybe. The main thing I don't like is dark circles under my eyes which I think is mainly due to thinner skin and not much fat in that area.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I use neutrogena oil free moisturiser, it's the only one I've found that my skin likes and doesn't break out with. That's pretty well all that I use! I don't and have never smoked and hardly every drink any alcohol so I think that makes a difference. I also drink lots of water and I only wear makeup once or twice a week usually.
1. How old are you (if you don't mind sharing)? 28
2. How do you feel about getting older? Not a fan. I always just see myself as 23, I've never really grown mentally past that age. Sometimes I think to myself "I'm married with a child, have two houses and a pretty good job. How have I done that already?" Then I think about the things I didn't do that are generally seen as only being done by "young" people and I wonder if I've gotten life backwards.
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Yes. I first noticed when I came back to work in March. And I think it's actually not so much to dowith my actual age, but stress and weight gain. I look at photos of when I was younger and the main difference is a thinner face, no frown line and better conditioned skin.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I changed when I came back to work as I felt I looked worse. It was the woman at the spa/makeup place that told me my skin was dry and now I really notice it and it does age me. So I use a gentle exfoliant every night and a rejuvenating moisturiser - can't remember what it is, comes in a little red tub.
1. How old are you (if you don't mind sharing)? I'm 35 atm but turn 36 in March!
2. How do you feel about getting older? It doesn't bother me. Figure it's just an inevitable part of life
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Yeah in the last year or so I have noticed a few more lines around my eyes when i smile but that's about it.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I use an anti-bacterial face wash morning and night. I use spf oil free tinted moisturiser during the day and a light, oil free, hydrating night cream.
1. How old are you (if you don't mind sharing)? I'm 35 atm but turn 36 in April
2. How do you feel about getting older? I have mixed feelings, I know its happening but I miss some of that youthful vitality
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? yes just look older. Lines are stronger, Stress, babys etc all take there toll
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I use garnier face wash and bio oil at night, rinse and olay 7 with sunscreen in the morning. I try to do a mask once a week.
1. How old are you (if you don't mind sharing)? I'm 32 , turning 33 in March
2. How do you feel about getting older? In regards to my skin, meh, what can you do? I should've smoked less, stressed less, then maybe I wouldn't look the way I do now, lol.
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? yes, mainly after DS birth, my skin had a horrible hormonal breakout just after his birth but was so, so, so dry and itchy! my eyes are getting so many fine lines, my frown lines and browcrease don't ever really go away now, I also have a small dent crease thing from fake smiling at work all the time (I dont get it when I really smile!)
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I have used ponds cleanser and oil of ulan (back in the day!) since I was 14-about 20...when the olay 7 + came out I started using that. went thruogh a stage of only using olive oil soap and rosehip/macadamia oil on my face but didnt see any marked improvement.
From the age of 28 I have been using clinique turnaround mask once a week/month (when I remember) a scrub in the shower and still on the look out for a fave cleanser. (I chop and chane depending on my skin at the time, I currently have 3 on the go)
Tried out the olay regenerist cream, made my skin look wonderful! looked like I had makeup on! lol, but so exxy I cant afford it all the time.
Have just recently treated myself to clinique turnaround serum, I love it! love it! will definitely be going back for more of that (when its on special anyways!)
my skin feels baby smooth and my fine lines actually seem to be minimising...
1. How old are you? I'm 39 turning the BIG 4 0 in February
2. How do you feel about getting older? It's just part of life to me although I get told that I don't look my age. My body is starting to tell me though that I'm getting older, my aches and pains and creaky bones
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Yep more wrinkles around my eyes, but so far everything else seems to still be defying gravity, for how much longer who knows.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I use everyday when I have a shower Garnier face wash as I still have oily skin and am prone to break outs so need something that feels like my face is getting a good clean. Apart from that I use foundation with SPF in it when I go out but I don't use any type of moisturisers at all as it feels like my face is all clogged up and can't breathe if I do. I also will use sudocrem when I get pimples to help dry them out but that's all.
2. How do you feel about getting older? Sometimes I wish I could be a fresh-faced 20-something again, but then if I was back in my 20s I'd be back in the days of proving myself professionally, finding my other half, wondering if I'd have children, be sufficiently self-aware enough to not stand up for myself and what I believe in. At 40 I'm proud to say I've achieved what I wanted, when I wanted, can stand up for myself and I'm in good health, so hopefully I've got another happy and healthy 40+ years to look forward to! Probably the only "negative" I'm conscious of is that, being an older mum, I want to be as fit and healthy as I can be in order to live as long as possible to see my kids have kids (hopefully!).
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Yes, to me my skin no longer has that "fresh" look about it, but I'm happy to report that (thanks to having had an oil-prone skin all these years), I don't have any wrinkles Apparently some were surprised I was turning 40, so apparently I don't look it (instead I'll look 39 forever LOL).
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? No, for me it's stayed the same for the past 20-odd years. Cleanse at night, occasional exfoliant, and sometimes moisturise at night, plus moisturiser with inbuilt SPF every day. I wear a hat if I'm out in the sun for any length of time (I'm more conscious of that nowdays). I love having a proper facial, and pre-kids I'd have regular facials but these days I'm lucky if I get one or two a year (more's the pity ...).
I have a couple of questions about ageing and I have shared my answers also.
1. How old are you (if you don't mind sharing)? I'm 41 in June
2. How do you feel about getting older? It doesn't bother me at all. I don't feel any older now than I did 10 years ago.
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? It's only if I closely examine my face in the mirror that I see the fine lines around my eyes. But I don't mind the imperfections. Every line tells a story. I think I'm blessed with good genes.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I've started using Kosmea skin care range. I love love love the rose oil. My skin feels fabulous ater using it. My skin care regime has never been strict. The only skin care thing I'm stringent with is moisturising my hands. Hands will always tell the truth about your age and get neglected all too often.
In a nut shell I actually think I look better than I did in my 20s. I'm definitely fitter than I was. I drink less. I take better care of myself. I still think I've got "it" (well at least my husband tells me I do). Oh and my boobs are still perky(ish) I think I look pretty darn good for a woman in her early 40s.
I embrace the aging process and have never been afraid of getting older.
Oh and lastly....things my mother taught me:
moisturise, moisturise, moisturise
wear supportive knickers - your butt will thank you when you hit 30 and it keeps pointing north (g-strings just don't cut it)
1. How old are you (if you don't mind sharing)? 28 - 29 in Feb
2. How do you feel about getting older? It doesn't worry me, we all age right?
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Looking back at photo's i notice a bit of a difference, probably since having the kids.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? NO - i don't but i really should do something... i basically wash my face in the shower every day and that is it ummm yeah need some help there... i don't wear makeup so thats not a big issue either.
2. How do you feel about getting older? Looking forward to it and have loved every minute of it.
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? Some days more than others. It depends on how well I have slept or what sort of day I had. My skin has some fine lines around my eyes..laughter lines. I like how my skin has aged, it seems to be ageing reasonably slow, I put that down to genes, my Mum always has fantastic skin.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I take my make up off every night and moisturise with Moo Goo Anti ageing morning and night. I wear tinted moisturiser every day. I sometimes use Clinique moisturiser. I wear make up on work days and various other days. Not every day.
1. How old are you (if you don't mind sharing)? almost 43.
2. How do you feel about getting older? I hate that I'm not as robust as I used to be. I take longer to recover from injury and sickness, and every health issue seems to be more concerning than when I was young. But looks-wise I think I look better now than any other time in my life. And I'm more satisfied with myself than ever before, even though obviously a woman isn't ever completely satisfied lol.
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? I'm sure I've started to look older but I don't really notice it. I don't have many wrinkles at all but I do see the odd grey hair now and again. If I think about it I would say that the most noticeable thing about ageing is my skin getting thinner. When you're young your skin is far tougher and more elastic. But that's me being critical because overall I have few other signs if aging.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? I have started to in the last year but previous to that, nothing, nada. Not sunscreen, not moisturiser, just soap and water.
2. How do you feel about getting older? Never really think about it
3. Have you noticed your face starting to age? When did you start noticing? No not really I think I look more like my brother all the time and he is 5 years younger than me so not sure what that says.
4. Do you have a specific skin care routine? If so, does that change as you age? No - mmm I do nothing apart from wear sunscreen if out and about - I really don't like the feel of anything on my skin - and the thought of handcream makes me feel sick (I don't wear nail polish because it makes my hands feel heavy also, and don't wear any rings because hate the feel - so clearly I have some strange issue going on). In the past I have at various times thought right must do something bought things and used for maybe a week but end of day I hate the feel of everything. I rarely wear makeup if I do am very lax about removing it. Face gets washed in shower and that is about it. Years ago I watched something with this 90 + year old and she had fabulous skin and had only washed with cold water - so I use that to justify myself about doing nothing :-)
