A different way of asking for cash?![]()
I got a wedding invitation today that specified ' no boxed gifts'.
I have no idea what a boxed gift is.
A different way of asking for cash?![]()
They just want cash, not items
Could it be as simple as something in a box? So they don't want appliances or dinner sets or..?
What does that leave - towels? They don't come in boxes. Kitchen utensils?
Kind of a strange request...
Give them a toaster minus the box and with a bow around it lol

Oh cash. Right!
I have zero problem with a request for cash instead of items, but I really dislike that wording.
Oooohhh, that is so rude :0
Get them a pony.
Huh? Never heard that before. Rude... but I do have a problem with asking for cash instead of a giftGive them a box which contains a note saying "we were going to fill this box with cash but you asked for no boxed gifts. Congrats on your marriage."

I hate the concept personally. I think you should donate a toilet to an African village on their behalf.
ETA: I should add that when giving money at a wedding/reception is part of the culture, that's something different and acceptable
Wow! That's a bit of a rude way of asking for cash!
I like some of the suggestions above. Very creative!![]()
Maybe they want no gift.
I like the pony or the toilet-in-africa idea.
Or a pot plant. As in a rosebush or something. Not marijuana. Different pot.
Kitchenware, linen, it's stuff we have lots.
Same with furniture, appliances and saucepans and pots.
We don't need towels, plants, or vases at all.
And when it comes to kettles and toasters our needs are small.
Really when it comes household stuff we have a pretty good stash,
So forget all that crap and just GIVE US THE CASH!
