    Baby jogger pram

Hi, a few of my friends have told me not to scrimp when it comes to buying a pram. My initial budget was about $300, but since this is my first and I have no idea how much things should cost I have since changed my mind. I have been recommended the Baby Jogger city mini, looks fantastic and I will go and check it out later. It is $400 so not too bad. This is what I would like in a pram:

    *lighweight, no bigger than 11kg
    *preferably 3 wheels
*easy fold that can fit in the boot (I don't have a 4 wheel drive and refuse to ever get one)
*can get in and out of shops without taking out half the store in the process lol

Is it practical to spend up on a pram?

if you can, go to like b aby b u n ting and see what they have there - they will often let you go and "try out" folding the pram into the back of your car so you can see if it fits.

I had a Valco three wheeler (before vic came along) and it was good. - it fitted really well into the boot of my wagon.

Totally, but I tend to spend up on everything!

I have a baby jogger city mini single with a skateboard and a baby jogger city mini double. Great prams.

I love my bj city mini, good value in my opinion. I have had several prams/ strollers and this is my absolute favourite!

I'd say it is definitely wise to invest in a pram that suits your wants/needs. We have a mountain buggy but didn't take it with us while on holiday for a month because different family members had prams we could borrow while there. How we missed our buggy! The other three we used at different destinations were too flimsy, didn't have enough storage underneath, not enough sun shade, too uncomfortable to push, too heavy or cumbersome etc etc.

We also love our BJ city mini.
The fold is so so easy, it's super light, easy to steer, and fits through doors no worries. I am 181cm tall and don't kick my feet while pushing it either. The sun shade is the best I've seen.

Only down side for us was that bub doesn't face you. Which I didn't think would worry me but turned out DD wasn't too keen on it when she was little. This time we have hired a capsule and I got a capsule adaptor for ~$40 so when this bub is little it will be able to face me.

I think with lots of prams you really can get what you pay for and the BJ prams are really well made. If you do decide to get one, check out online stores as they often have them on sale, and if you need to buy anything else eg carseat then the cost of shipping isn't that much (when you consider you've bought multiple items).

    Baby jogger pram

I'm on my second BJ pram and still love them! I had the City Elite first but sold it to get the City Select when DD2 came along. Both prams have exceeded my expectations and I'd highly recommend either or any other BJ for that matter.

Have you looked at the new Baby Jogger Versa? The seat can easily be changed around (same as the Select) so bubs can face you or face out. Some food for thought

I would love that! From what I can see the others are all about $600-$900, way out of our budget unfortunately But the city mini is only $400, that's why I am considering it.

i paid $50 for my double, but before then the most i paid for a pram was $5.50. You don't have to spend $100s if you don't want to.

Have you looked at eBay and Gumtree? A lot of BJ lovers upgrade to another BJ pram and sell their old ones. The girl who bought my Elite got an awesome deal

You can get them cheaper from the States if you're comfortable doing that. We bought our Select from the States through Baby On The Run. I'm not sure if they're still sending them to Aus though but you could email Rick, the owner, and ask.

The Mini is a great pram though, you won't be disappointed!

I have the baby jogger citi mini and it fits all the criteria you specified. I love the pram - so much so that I just brought the double side-by-side version for when #2 is born.

You're welcome hun In fact, if you're looking for other things, shop around and then visit Hushabye, in my case I always got it cheaper there. You can also ask for things you've seen elsewhere, if he doesn't have it, he will quote and order it for you if he can. As for the bassinet, I'm pretty sure you'll need a baby jogger one....have fun shopping!

PS I will be selling mine pretty soon as my DS is refusing to sit in it now, he prefers to run everywhere, lol. We have a Maclaren stroller which we bought when he was 14 months old when we travelled interstate and that's been gathering dust, so I'll keep that for longer trips etc. If you're interested send me a PM, and we can chat further. Mine is the light green/grey colour.

Thanks MissB, we actually put the pram on lay-by today. DH loooved it when he saw how they collapse with one hand And the lady said you can fit any bassinet in it (takes a softer one though I think)
But I still have heaps to get so next stop will be dandenong when we get around to it
