    Constipated during AF ?

I loathe to actually put this out there but it's really starting to peeve me off.
Every time I have my period, I get constipated. Not like, I need to strain constipated, but I often don't have a single poo during this time. Now this wouldn't be a problem except I feel like I need to. I feel all bloated and sore and ouchy and my water intake is more rather than less and in terms of diet and normal functioning of my body it doesn't seem to make sense.
Does anyone else experience this? It is not a new thing, occurred prior to being pregnant with DD (but can't recall prior to DS).
It 'feels' like there is not enough room for both to function at the same time. I don't know, just odd that is all.

    Constipated during AF ?

Tmi but I get the opposite, I go more regularly than normal. Never known why, but it starts like a day or so before af arrives, so I always know she's coming cos of that. Maybe hormones like tt said? No idea...

Not really 'glad' that other people have issues but it's good to hear I am not alone.
I thought about it some more and when I am able to go, it hurts quite a lot - again not in a traditionally constipated way but moreso that my abdomen feels all squished up.
I don't really know how I can explain it. I guess I could ask a doctor but I never thought it was an actual 'issue'.
