If you spent $50 on a pair of shoes.....

and wore them 3-4 times a week, how long would you expect them to last you?

Well I have spent $50 on some shoes that I wear 1-2times a week and I have had them for about 2years and still going. They were half price though so maybe they should last at least 6m-1year by my estimations.

6 - 12 months I would say would be pretty fair, depends on if they are getting a good workout or just a casual wear though.....

6-12 months, depending on what sort of shoe & how they are worn. I've found some sports shoes don't last as well because of how they are scraped on surfaces.

I'd be peeved if they only lasted 8 weeks. I often only spend $30-40 on shoes and I expect at least 3 months out of them. And I wear my favs everyday.

Depends what they are? Ballet flats or canvas type that get lots of wear on rough surfaces (we have pebbled concrete at work) only seem to last a few months or a season at most. It would also depend on the store some cheapie places (ie Rubi shoes etc) seem to wear out really fast.

I spend £10 on a pair of shoes and expect them to last a year, wearing them about twice a week.

And shoe I bought that failed within 3 months - even with continuous wearing - I would be livid. That isn't a shoe, that's a money hole.

Depends on what they are and where they were being worn.
A pair of $50 boots in the kitchen would last me a month if I bought a shoe without a decent sole that is resistant to damage from fats, oils, acids and solvents. But that same shoe would last me easily 12 months if I wore it hiking 8 hours a day for a year.

Yep 8 weeks is not long enough, provided you haven't thrashed them in anyway.
