    Feeling your own cervix.

Ok this might seem odd... but how on earth do ppl feel their own cervix. Apart from the massive belly in the way... I must have a high up cervix or something cos I just don't feel anything in there! ?
I don't go fishing around in my vagina often but I have checked maybe 3 times (twice without a huge belly in the way lol) and I'm just not finding anything that makes me think I've found my cervix ever.

I can certainly feel my cervix this time, it is difficult with a belly but I am not overly big. My previous pregnancies it has been up far to high most of the time to locate it. So it doesn't surprise me that you can't feel yours, I imagine your belly is alot bigger than mine having twins.

Oh and yes, you would know if you found it, especially if it is hard and not dilated, mine being very soft and only just starting to dilate made me second guess myself.

I can't ever reach mine either LOL

But I have short stubby fingers - they go well with my short dinosaur arms. Rarrrr.

I think I have short fingers too lol.
I kind of figured I'd know if I'd found it... and I mean there aren't that many places for it to hide rofl

Eta thanks to you both for assuring me I'm not abnormal :-D

At this stage in pregnancy your cervix should be quite high and towards the back of your vagina, making it more difficult to feel. Later on in your pregnancy you will find it easier, especially if you are in labour. That's the most interesting time to feel it too as it will be moving and changing.

    Feeling your own cervix.

It's easier to find if you 'bear down'. DP and I got to feel mine when I was 39 weeks pg. I think it stimulated my hormones and along with the
Other fun methods helped to get labor started.
It was Amazing to feel it change over a few days and then almost disappear in labor.

    Feeling your own cervix.

I had trouble reaching mine with my first, but since then it sits a lot lower all the time. It now stays just below where the vag curves inside.

    Feeling your own cervix.

I found the best position to feel for my cervix (whether pregnant or TTC) was squatting in the shower. I couldn't always feel it, but swatting often puts it in a more favourable position to be felt.

I'm not surprised you can't feel it. I was induced 1.5 weeks ago. My ob broke my waters. It felt like she was reaching for my tonsils....

So I have tried to feel for mine, and all I can feel is a kind of lip bit of skin.....about half way up my vagina....it feels like a flap of skin, is that it? LOL I can also feel the top of baby's head, all hard and bone like now.....I am guessing she is further engaged than she once was lol......
