Just need to say it so that maybe I can stop worrying
I lost my dd last year to a cord accident at 39 weeks and hve been lucky enough to be pregnant again on our first attempt. I had a huge bleed on Friday last week which I assumed meant I had a miscarriage. Anyway I had my bloods done on the thurs (day before) which were 1585 and then on sat after 'mc' and they were 3404. So of course when my GP calls me wih the numbers I am expecting her to confirm the mc but no, I am apparently still pg. so I have continued to have bloods done every second day and they have continued to double and are now almost 12000 (I am 5 weeks 4 days). I am still spotting red blood - enough to see on pantyliner and tp but never soak a liner so just saying its spotting. My ob and GP are not overly concerned due to blood levels. GP suspects that I have lost a twin. I have posted this throughout the week in the pregnancy thread so I don't expect a response, just needed to write this down. I m beyond confused and stressed which is not good but I expected my next pg to be hard given last years lost but this is going to send me insane
Hugs chick.. it is hard, I know.. My rainbow baby gave me nothing but worry my entire pregnancy! I started bleeding at 7ish weeks and bled for almost my whole pregnancy, sometimes it would be spotting, other times full on flow. No one could tell me why I was bleeding or if it would stop. my litte man is now a healthy little 2 year old! I know that it doesnt always have a happy ending but sometimes it does, so try and relax and to steal the words of a very wise woman I met on here ... enjoy every minute that your baby is with you.. xx
Thanks everyone and thanks mumma bear for your story. Gives me a bit of hope that maybe the scan will show something! I had more of a bleed yesterday...no massive clots and again no pain. Two more sleeps and we will see I guess. Xo
I am now mama to DS, 5 months, whose twin I saw with a heartbeat at 7 weeks, but which did not keep growing and who's loss was classed as 'vanishing twin syndrome' by 9 weeks. I had no bleeding at all, and had I not had early scans, would never have known that my singleton was once a twin.
I just want you to know that bleeding does not always mean miscarriage, and in the case of losing one of twins, there is not always bleeding.
If your hcg is still rising, I think there's a lot of reason for hope! Best of luck.
SO i had my us today and still somewhat in the same boat! My dates were 6w2d which i agree with (mine anywhere from 6w exactly to 6w2d) but only saw sak and yolk - no fetal pole or hb yet. so pretty much still in the grey area! so confused and deep down knew that it would be to early to give a definite on what is happening. Ob has given me 50/50 that everything will be ok, or i might mc. I am still bleeding and it picked up again on friday but slowed down a bit now. The bleeding is not coming from the baby apparently so that is good. he said that they consider this implanation bleeding (huh! no way its way to heavy!). The big gush of what i thought was a mc 10 days ago, he believes could have been a twin which mc but could not be confirmed. So yeah - have to wait another week and cross our fingers for the best!
Thanks tt40
My GP just called. Could tell she wAsnt quite as positive as last week but wants me to Do a sneaky blood test to see if levels going up still. If not, at least I can prepare for mc which a bit of warning will be nice xoxo
