Question DIY Gel or acrylic nails?

Who does their own gel or acrylic nails? I love having my toe nails done and usually I have acrylic on them but it gets so expensive! I'm thinking of doing it myself but am wondering what gear I would need and where to get it from. There are kits on ebay, has anyone purchased from there?

Acrylic toes? Really? I didn't even know that was an option if I paint my toenails they last forever!

Be careful with the home kits, you do them too thick and you're in for trouble.

I think the home gel kits are expensive as an initial cost as you have to buy the uv light, gels etc but probably cheaper in the long run if you get your nails done regularly. I think the trick is the level of uv in the light - re the most effective home kits.

I bought the base level gel kit from price attack. it cost about $80 to set up. I no longer get acrylics done because finger nails last 2+ weeks. Toenails last until they grow out :-) one of the best investments I've made. I dare say it has probably saved me over $1000 so far I have also bought the home acrylic kits and even after lessons I'm still not happy with the results I get, especially using my non-dominant hand. I love the results with my gel kit though

    DIY Gel or acrylic nails?

I do my own gel nail polish at home.
Be very wary of cheaper inferior products when hunting for gel/gel nail polish/acrylic materials.
I use a product that does sell in a major retailer, but I buy online as its cheaper.
Very easy to use, quick and no drying time
PM me if you want some info

nickle/Rouge yes lots of people get toes done, it's on the menu at all those nail places I get mine done because unlike my nails which are awesome, strong, healthy, really white tips etc my toes nails are the opposite, they are thin, weak and break really easily. The acrylic makes them smooth, shinny and thick and well... just perfect! plus the polish or french (as you can get white tips on them) lasts for a few months so I have perfect toes nails for months, even though nail polish stays on bare toe nails for ages it stays on acrylic or gel for longer so I really get my monies worth. It's especially awesome through Spring & Summer not to have to think about them when my tootsies are on display all the time.

    Ladylove & Cas thanks girls

Emma I'm interested! Will pm you thanks

I do gels at home just on my own nails (not acrylics).

    Gel polish?
    Depends on your lamp.
Mine take 20 minutes- including drying time.
