    Angry Seriously? *TMI* [VENT]

DS2 weaned about a month ago (devastated, but getting there) and I went back onto the pill. Got my first AF back, it was heavy as all get out. Unsurprising - it's been about 20 months coming!

    That was 2 weeks ago.

I then switched back to my usual pill (as DS2 has weaned, I don't need to stay on the minipill, and my normal one I have found quite good over the years).

    No worries. Feeling good.

Got my period today. And it's all brown and yech.

    Seriously?

I had the world's heaviest period two weeks ago. I'm going to be falling down at the gym due to having no iron.

And WTF is it all gross and brown-y?

**** off, AF. You're univited from my vagina.

In other news, I had actually intended skipping this period, to give my iron stores a chance to catch up from the last party-in-the-pants.

    Boo.

    Seriously? *TMI* [VENT]

Brown is old blood, so you might not be getting AF again (because that would really suck), it may be some leftovers, especially if it was particularly heavy Hugs all round, for the weaning (you really inspired me on a personal level the way you managed to pump and work and also bf), and for the bleeding. Go away AF!!

Oh hugs, that is awful for you! I have to say, as with many of your posts, I'm finding myself doing a bit of this though Thanks for the giggles!

My periods are a bit awol too but I'm not taking the pill. They've gone from 28-29 day cycles between my girls to now, after DD2's arrival, spotting from day 24 (brown ick too - foul) to finally kicking off - in full force - at 26 days. My vagina aches on the first day and it feels awfully heavy, exactly like in late pregnancy. I Googled it and all responses pointed to a prolapse. I'm overjoyed with that thought

To top it off, AF arrived this week and DH spoilt me big time for Valentines Day and we couldn't even, ahem, finish the night properly.

Booo AF!!! I hope your next cycle is friendlier to you PN! I guess it will be if you skip that sucker. That'll teach it!

It is probably because you changed pills mid-cycle. It should settle back down if you stay on the one pill.

    Thanks girls.

Lime - I switched to my old pill after AF wrapped up from last cycle, is that the same? I guess I'll find out soon enough ... maybe I'll skip the sugar pills for another two months (Michelle Bridges will be pleased!!) and see what happens ... ?

Sounds as though you have had breakthrough bleeding, which is fairly normal when changing pills. You may also find that the pill you were on pre-children doesn't work as well for you now, post-children.

I personally wouldn't skip the sugar pills, I would make sure you got at least a few cycles sorted and stable, make sure the pill is the right one, at the right level, and that your body gets some rhythm back before you start skipping periods. Tht's just me though.

Crumbs, I really hope my old pill suits me - it took a few hits and misses to find one that worked well the first time and I really don't want to have to go through that process again, it was painful!

You're right about the sugar pills (or at least having the 7 day break, etc) ... I know in my head that even a heavy AF doesn't actually cause you to lose much blood, but I hate the thought of voluntarily giving any up when I'm still so very tired from DS2 not sleeping for the first 8 odd months of his life ...

Donating blood is 470ml, a period is normally only 35-60ml and that includes other stuff ...

I just am not happy about having such a heavy one 2 weeks after the last one. It's like my pre-pill days all over again, and I'm glad to be rid of those.

And whenever I see old brown blood and clots like this my first thought is always that I've had a missed pregnancy

    Ok, this is just STUPID.

I've had about 5 people's periods, and it's still crazy heavy. Then it will stop for a couple of hours. And then come back.

    Gah!

Just venting ... quietly losing all my blood ...

    Re: Seriously? *TMI* [VENT]

Years ago i was on the pill back to back for one month. For some reason it didnt stop for 6 months even with drugs. In the end i had the mirena put in and a d&c at the same time. It helped and although i still now get heavy af its not constant. I do have endo and pcos so im not sure. I hope this helps. Its so hard. Huge hugs xx

    I hope that's not happening ...

    I'm still bleeding

I can go back to the Dr, I could go for acupuncture, I can ride it out and give it another week ... not sure what else I could do ...

I think trying another method of contraception would be counterproductive.

I'm still off coffee, so a little part of me still wonders about pg ... ?

Though my chiro (super chiro man with bells and whistles) was asking what age my mum went through menopause

Not ready for that pony. I *think* our family is complete, but I'm not ready for that to be a certainty.

What pill are you on? Could well be it simply isn't strong enough. I had the same thing when I was 19 - bled for 6 weeks, was totally fudged. Doc took me off, waited for the bleeding to subside, my period to return and then I stared on a stronger version of the same pill. No more problems.

Go back to the doctor. Either way, it is not normal.

    Norimin.

I was on the minipill befpre (microgynon or something).

    Changes lately have been:

    o change in pill
    o change in diet
    o change in exercise level
o mild dislocation and realignment of jaw
o election was called by Gillard
o onyx started going on about the zombie apocalypse
