I started on Yaz a few days ago and I am feeling really ill. Did you get nausea and did it settle down? Mine goes all day and it really is unbearable. If I stop taking it ill get my period again won't I? It's at the end of it now.
I started taking Yaz for Pms issues and for contraception. But right now I can't sleep because I feel so sick
I have been taking Yaz for about 4 months, my GP prescribed it as I requested a pill which is less likely to cause weight gain and mood swings. I do find it makes me feel nauseous, although this lessened after the first month or so. I take my pill at night, around the time I usually go to bed and sleep through the nausea! I feel fine by morning.
I took Yaz for a few months for PMS and had to stop. I was nauseous, after the first couple of cycles I stopped getting a period altogether and I got massive migraines that lasted for three or four days through what should have been my period.
If you are still taking the sugar pills you should be able to just not start the next round without getting another period. If you've started you may get a bit of spotting, but if you're close to the very start I doubt you'd get another full period.
I've heard lots of women really love Yaz, but it seems to be one of those pills that you either love or hate. For me it was definitely evil.
I've been taking it since last Friday. My doc told me to stick it out for at least a month but I just feel awful. Not sure what to do. I've never had much luck on any of the pills I've tried.
Did you switch to another one or just give up entirely?
I'm a long term user of Yaz and love it. The first month I wasn't very impressed, it made my period super long, but once we got through that its been great. Like above I take it at the same time each night. I only use the sugar pills when I start a new pack. I've not noticed any weight gain outside of the norm of bad eating and no exercise, no headaches and if Im nauseous then I haven't noticed it during the day. Its the only pill I've been on that hasn't made me want to jump off a cliff.
If you stop taking it now then yes you will probably get a withdrawal bleed.
It sort of coincided with when DH and I made the decision to try for #3 so I just went off the pill completely. The really bad experience I had with it was a very big factor in DH having a vasectomy after DD3 was born - there was no way I was going back on oral contraception again.
Isn't it awful. I couldn't take it anymore and didn't take it last night. I'm starting to feel better already, though it doesn't solve my contraception dilemma! A vasectomy sounds good, though DH not keen at this stage. Good on your DH!
Good to hear you're feeling better. I'm really glad my DH went and got it done - its so nice not to have to think of contraception ever again. He started off VERY unhappy at the thought of it - conceded that as stupid as it is, he felt it was a loss of masculinity as well as struggling to get his head around voluntarily having any form of surgery - but I just left the idea with him throughout DD3's pregnancy and after. The thought of perhaps never DTD again might have brought him around a little too ;-)
