    Tomato stained Tupperware

I love my slow cooker and often make double quantity meals to save time during the week. Unfortunately most of my favourites have tomato or carrots or pumpkins in them which seem to stain the Tupperware.

Domestic goddess I am not but have tried hot soapy water, soaking in boiling water and multiple dishwasher cycles but to no avail.

Does anyone have a handy hint to help me save my Tupperware collection from being 50 shades of orange?

Try some trusty bicarb soda - make it into a paste with a little water and use it as a scouring powder. If that doesn't work, spread the paste over it and leave it overnight. Good luck!

Not sure, but to prevent it happening again don't put it in the containers until it's cooled, and don't heat it up in them either

Apparently spraying the container with oil before putting the tomato based thing in it is supposed to help too.

I believe tupperware recommend Fairy dishwashing liquid as getting rid of unwanted stains....but I have no evidence to support this, just an ad I saw!

I can confirm that spraying with cooking spray reduces if not prevents stains on Tupperware from tomato based dishes.

Immediately after use, and before washing, throw in a tbsp or so of bicarb, and shake it so it coats. Let it sit for an hour, then wash. That prevents it, and it's so easy!
