    Question 50% increase in VBAC success if....

    .... you have another woman at your birth to support you who had a successful vaginal delivery.

    Just heard that statistic today. Don't know where it came from, or what research was done, though. Can anyone tell me if they've seen more info on that? I find that fascinating, although not surprising. Would love to hear more about it!

    Yes that is true for doulas - in the sense that a doula results in 50% less caesarean sections. These are well known figures from the world's leading authority on doulas, Drs Klaus and Kennell who founded DONA. If you check out the DONA site it has recent research - everything to do with doulas

    Those are amazing stats Kelly! Thanks for posting the link. Again, I'm not really surprised, but it's great to see documented benefits. Good to see birth coming back around (slowly!) to what it should be for mothers and babies.
