We are officially ttc, so need to get myself organised for baby #3. I really would like a chance to have a vba2c. I need to find an obstetrician who really supports vba2c with an affiliated or non affiliated IM in Melbourne. Can anyone recommend anyone especially if you have had a vba2c.
Check out 'midwives naturally' too. they have IMs that can help support your with a VBAC and they do have some arrangements with hospitals. I know that they have helped many women achieve VBACs and HBACs etc etc.
Hi, just saw your post now. I'm not sure if Pregs will support a vbac2? I vaguely remember calling his rooms and being told by (many receptionists at the time) that I would have to have a repeat caesar. So I kept researching and found my obs for our third child last year (Dr Fiona Cowell). She works with 3 other female obs in Victoria Pde (working at Freemasons and St Vincents) and they all supported my decision to have a vbac2, if they were going to be back up for my obs. She had also supported another mum with her vba2c prior to seeing me and does some high risk pregnancy work at The Mercy. I'd previously had our two boys at the Mercy and there was no way that they were going to support a vba2c so I went private with our third. Unfortunately for me, I got pre-eclampsia at 40 weeks and couldn't be induced, so I ended up with another c/s. My obs was genuinely upset for me that I didn't get my vbac and the baby was head down, fully engaged and ready to be born when I got pre-eclampsia. She said that if i'd not got pre-eclampsia, I probably would have got a vbac this time around (spewing!) Our daughter was also smaller than both my first two boys and having the support of my obs and our doula and a well positioned baby, I really felt that I could do it this time. Anyway, I highly recommend Dr Cowell and hope that you get your vbac with baby number 3, good luck
