    Misbehaving period - TMI

My period is being a very naughty sausage.

I've been menstruating for about four months after not menstruating for about 19 months (pregnant then BF) and I've been on the pill again for about 4-5 months ...

I was on pill A (a minipill) but it sucked so I've gone back onto pill B (Norimin) which I love, and which *normally* loves me back.

But for the past 4 months, I've basically been bleeding every 2 weeks ... I'll bleed for 3-7 days, then it will nick off for 10-15 days, then come back.

The last 2-3 bleeds though have been brown blood - clearly old blood, with clots and some CM.

    Umm. WTF?

I wondered if I've had a missed miscarriage, as I went completely off coffee 2 months ago, which has only ever happened to me when pregnant, but I did a POAS then (and again about 2 weeks later) and they were negative.

I would understand if I had a couple of bleeds with old blood, as I other wise have only bled from lochia since April/May 2011 ... but I've had about 8 bleeds in 4 months now, so surely it should have cleared itself out.

I would also understand a bit of spotting here and there, as my poor little body gets used to menstruating and being back on the pill and finishing breastfeeding and all that - but again, not for 4 months ...

As far as other key indicators go, I'm stressed and under a lot of pressure, but nothing out of the ordinary - and my body is usually 28 days on the nose every cycle when on Norimin ... And I've changed my exercise and eating habits but not radically (12WBT - so having a good 1200 calories daily, and getting to the gym 1-6 times a week... 1-2 times lately).

    Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry, I have no idea, but couldn't read and not post. Is it worth a trip to the doc?

hello, did I write this post??? very similar thing here. I think I got first 'short' cycle just before starting minipill, but last 3 have been 20 days, 18 days, 17 days. with periods up to 10 days.

I don't know whats going on, whether it is pill or something else. trying to put my big girl pants on to get some blood tests or something.

When that happened to me, the dr said the pill wasn't strong enough. I was put on a stronger one which fixed the problem.

I had a similar thing happen way back when I went on the pill. Would you believe my first stopped period started the well bros my wedding and later till I got back from my honeymoon! Turned out I had the same issue as Tinks. Dr. Put me on a stronger pill (Dianne from memory) and I didn't have anymore issues :-)

Same here as above and was switched to Diane as well which fixed the issue.

    Gah. So annoying.

Still very brown, clotty and mucousy.

FWIW Im on Diane (well the cheap version Estelle /Brenda) and its the best - It has made me lose weight and I feel awesome, not hormonal and just "wrong" which I had felt for months before going on it.

'Nutter that sounds thoroughly unsettling and annoying. No idea whatsoever but I second the idea of chatting to the doc. Hope she learns to behave herself again.

Also just wanted to flag this for those who mentioned Dianne pill:

I know it's just 'under review' but if you're taking it it'd be worth tracking the outcome of said review. Sucks muchly because I too have really benefited from that particular pill. '

That's the problem for me though - my body has got right back in the swing of things on this pill and I feel more like myself than I have in months. I'm a bit worried what will happen if I change!
