Hi everyone
I am new to this website but my husband and I have been trying for a baby for the past 18 months. After numerous tests, it was discovered that my husband has low sperm count as well as poor morphology and motility. I don't ovulate regularly but that is probably because I am overweight. We have agreed to do ivf with icsi in about 5 weeks so I can have some time to lose weight. I am feeling really nervous about whether this will work as its costing us money we really don't haveI was just wondering if people can share any success stories they have with ivf. Thank you

Hi Loza, Welcome to Belly Belly
Both my children were conceived with the help of Repromed - both with ISCI also. Your situation sounds very similar to ours. My DH has poor morphology and motility, although his actual sperm count was fine.
There are no guarantees of success, we were extremely lucky in the fact that we have only done two cycles - each one resulting in a full term pregnancy of my son, then my daughter, but I think this success is unfortunately not the norm. Having said that though ICSI was the perfect solution to our issue. Although there were no issues identified on my side, our first cycle was almost a failure as we only had one embryo, but it does only take one
My advice would be to ask Repromed lots of questions if you have any concerns, and do use the time to lose some weight, I was given the same advice and lost 3kg the month before our cycle, I was told that every kg helps, so any weightloss is certainly a bonus to improving fertility. I found Repromed to be excellent, sometimes it seems a little clinical, but the support staff are amazing and very compassionate.
Good luck, wishing you success in your journey x
Hi ladies. Thanks u so much for replying and being do welcoming. It's so nice to talk to people who have experienced this themselves. We have been told by our doctor that we have a 50% chance of it working based our age and situation (I'm 29 and DH is almost 27). I have also had several people i know do IVF and it worked the first time. I am really nervous but trying to be as positive as I can be. Any suggestions for anything that may help? I've heard good things about acupuncture but I'm unsure :/
Welcome Loza xox
My husband and I went through Adelaide Repromed and we were blessed with a sweet little princess on our second stim cycle.
I cannot recommend them highly enough. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, make you feel special, and are very supportive.
Best wishes for your upcoming cycle, I hope we hear great news from you in the near future
Feel free to ask any questions you have, x
Hi Murray cod
Thank u so much for replying. We have done a round of clomid with repromed and they have been very lovely and efficient. I heard they have great success rates too. If u don't mind me asking, what issues did u have which resulted in needing IVF? I am rely hoping it works first time but I'm trying not to put too much pressure on myself :/ I would appreciate any advice xx
I had undiagnosed infertility for seven years, then diagnosed with NKcells after my first stim cycle.
At first I was sure it was the NKcell issue, but after several unsuccessful attempts at baby number two with the same 'recipe', ' then a natural pregnancy following treatment in August, I'm not sure if it was just coincidence, perhaps I would have had success on stim number 2 being on the meds or not.
And although I say 'natural' pregnancy this time, it wasn't without any intervention that month I must add. After a full Stim cycle in August, my Repromed Specialist had me doing several investigations, MRI scans and a Lipiodal Tubal Flush in September, the month I fell pregnant with the baby I'm carrying now, it definately wasn't conceived without a good fight that's for sure!!
That's one thing I found at Repromed, they dig deep, keep testing, trying different things, they fight with/for you x
Hi Caty O

Hi Loza1983, I cant wait for tomorrow to start with the injections, Im excited but at the same time I am nervous, fingers crossed all goes well, been doing acupuncture as well, aparently it improves your chances... At repromed I see Dr Harvey and he is awesome, what about you?
I had a laparoscopy on january last year and they found out that I have endometriosis and my fallopian tubes are blocked. My husband has low morphology and motility. Have you tried acupuncure to help ovulation?
I just started acupuncture last week cause I've heard the same thingI've had one session and have my second one this Thursday
it was interesting but I didn't feel any different lol. Have u got an email? It would be really good to chat with u some more so we can share experiences. If your okay with that?

just waiting for AF or PG test after doing a OI cycle, initially they suggested we do IVF but we wanted to try again ourselves before taking the leap into IVF
I ended up using FSH injections to ovulate.
