    Car seat current rules

So do 4 year olds still need to be in a 5 point harness? Or can I move my 4 year old to a booster using car seat belt? Does it go by age/ weight still or by height of shoulders on car seat now? I have her in maxi rider but want to put her in a thinner car seat for extra room in the back. Should I wait a bit longer? What the current recommendations?

Yes you can move your 4 year old up but it is the height more then weight that would be an issue.

I also asked a similar question the other day and was told that some booster seats you can get H harnesses for them, I was told by the place I got the booster though that they don't reccomend them, but was not really told why.

They don't recommend H harnesses anymore I think it is explained on the vicroads website it relates to them being very dangerous if they are not fitted correctly every time the child is put in the car I think.
