I have one of these. There will be no washing in our house until a technician arrives!!

Freaks me out when I think of the number of times I've put the washing on overnight and then gone to bed. The laundry backs onto DS2s room.....it just doesn't bear thinking about what could have happened.

Thanks for posting Cass. I have a front loader but had just seen on the news that it was Samsung, so I didn't know if mine was affected.

I know what you mean about setting overnight. I do it all the time and often worry about it

Do you think this affects the same model numbers that were sold in NZ?

I haven't been able to get through today. The number won't even ring.
My understanding was that it's a manufacturing fault artichem so I would think it doesn't matter where they were sold? Can't hurt to ask if you can actually get through to someone.

Has anyone had theres fixed yet? It took me 2 days to get through and was told someone would call to book a time in 48 hrs.....that passed and got a text msg saying someone would call and book in 72hrs....then got a call on sunday again telling me to wait another 72hrs! Getting mad. I did call consumer protection though and have been told we can take it back to where we brought it for a refund and then we can just buy a new machine.....may just do this if they take to much longer

That's a joke fo3!!! You shouldn't have to go to the effort of returning it and buying a new one! I haven't been able to get through. Haven't tried today though.

I emailed the given email address on friday morning and a repairer contacted me early monday. Unfortunately the service tech won't travel and gave me the option of hauling my machine to the city over an hour away. Ummmm, no. Samsung are going to have to sort out someone local.

Just as an FYI in my experience Samsung customer service is s***. With a capital S. Some might remember it took us 6 months to get a freakin' broken refrigerator replaced / refunded. 6 months with a toddler, without a fridge. Don't hold you breath when they say 'they will get back to you' - chase them every damn step. I have a Samsung washer at present (bought before the fridge incident) and will not be purchasing any more samsung whitegoods or likely ANY products after that experience.

So i have just called samsung and let them know that 72 hrs has passed wheres my follow uo? I was then told that according to their notes i was given a phoene number of a repairer and was to call and arrange it MYSELF!!!!!!

No hunny i was NOT told that at all!!!!! And hell no!!! I shouldnt have to do the calling you should!!!

Anyway i was told to have it fixed i would have to arrange it myself....was then given a number.....to a repaiere IN ANOTHER STATE!!!!
Well ive told them where to stick their washing maching and will be returing it to where i brought it and will be buying a new machine and it will not be a samsung,i will also not be buying samsung anything anymore including a phone we will be moving onto your competition..Apple.

Has anyone had their washing machine fixed/serviced?

We were supposed to have a technician out last Friday, but they called me at 11 and said, sorry not coming out anymore and they would bein touch.

I emailed them on Monday and followed up with a phone call today.

They have now assigned another technician to the call out and hopefully my machine will be fixed next week.

Now. My question is. If something happens, ie it catches fire, and I need to make a claim on insurance, how does this affect it? I note that the email says that I can continue to use my washing machine but surely by acknowledging that there are faults with his machine I more or less veto it being insurable?

Besides all that. I am sick of hanging around while I do the wash. I always set and forget. Like we all have time to hover round the laundry while we wash.....
