    Strong boys names please!

DH and I are nervous that we're having a boy this time. Not that we wouldn't love a boy, it's just that we haven't been able to come up with a boys name since I was pregnant with DD! We're both feeling like this is a boy and we like to have a name when we find out the sex. That's only about 5 weeks away and we've gotten absolutely nowhere.

We'd like something that goes with DDs name (Annabelle) and something that is strong sounding and would be good for a man, not just a little boy. E.g. I floated the idea of Robert as this is my Papas name and he's just beaten cancer, and I like it. But nope. Middle name will be James and last name is the first three letters of my username. Due to the short surname we like long-ish names, like Theodore (although DH said no to this too ).

We tend to find interesting nicknames that aren't the norm - Annabelles nicknames aren't Anna, Annie, Belle or Bella lol - so we will likely find something that will suit while he's young. So hit me with your ideas, and I'll rattle them off when DH gets home!

    Thanks

Well, I like Robert too but that's a biased opinion because it's DS2s (and also my dad's) name.

What about Michael? Or, Edmund, Edward, Nicholas, Christopher....

Nothing sounds stronger to me than our DD's name Thor... but I don't think that goes with the surname very well.

    Wow, thank you everyone!

It rhymes with naughty! It's good but I think we might have to skip it lol.

I really like Michael and Benjamin. Christopher is a no as it's my dads name - James is also his middle name so a bit much. It's also the name of a cousin I really don't get along with for many reasons. I like Alexander and Orlando too, oh and Nicholas and Leonardo.

At least there are plenty to put to DH - the more there are, the more likely I am to get a yes!

I was going to suggest Peter, my eldest son's name...but don't think it goes well with your surname

From your above post I really like Alexander (my bub is named Alex), Nicholas and Benjamin.

I actually considered it when I saw your DS1s name but came to the same conclusion. I can almost guarantee if we go with Alexander the nickname won't be Alex. I don't even know where we come up with them. We have two nice girls options and again the nicknames we already use are strange

So far DH prefers Benjamin, Nicholas and Alexander. We're getting somewhere!

James is a no for a first name as it's the name of the foreman at DH s work and he's an absolute idiot. No one is really a fan of him lol. Michael and Jackson are out because they're too "Michael Jackson"
