One of my best friends has had a VERY rough 18 months including a wedding cancelation the morning of her wedding, eloping, getting pregnant on her honeymoon, being left by her husband 4 months on and then losing her son during labour.
Now she has decided to do IVF and is nearly through all the preliminary tests etc and has been advised that she will be told in September which donors she can choose from.
What I want to do (and she is totally on board and excited) is have a DONOR party to celebrate this next step she is taking. Part of the idea behind it is to take away some of the stigma that may be attached to her doing it as a Single person. So we have decided why not make it fun...the rest of the process is so very hard!
So what i need to is fun crazy ideas for a party!
Some of the ideas so far are -
Pin the sperm on the egg
A party to celebrate her life moving forward is a great idea. I don't get the donor party side of it though. Is she going to pick the donor at the party?
She is going to have it when she gets her list to pick from, obviously she is going to take the selection seriously but thought it might be a good way to make it public what she is doing and by us organising it show everyone how much support she has.
Pass the parcel - but pop some grown up prizes in.
The handbag game - everybody puts one or two items from their own handbag into a handbag and you take turns picking an item out without looking and trying to guess who it belongs to.
Mould the best sperm with play doh
