Heavy chest, funny heart beats etc

I'm going to the doctor today at 11.30 but wanted to see if any one else had these symptoms and maybe knows what the cause is. For the last few days my chest has felt really heavy, like I have a cement block on it. I'm not really congested at all. My throat is sore which makes my ears hurt when I swallow. My heart is going all funny when I lie down (palpitations - but feels like a massive 'THUMP' in my chest - makes me loose my breath sometimes). This morning I lost my voice and now when I move or talk I have a sharp pain in between my shoulders - which also doesn't help my chest feeling, it hurts. Also, this morning, I threw up 3x just because I was standing up. That's passed thankfully, except if I cough too much I feel like I will again. I feel like crap =(

:s Glad you're going to a doctor! From experience, quite low iron can cause palpitations and breathing issues - like feeling that no matter how deeply you breathe you're not getting enough oxygen. Hopefully you can get some answers and relief.

I have been having palipiations, chest pain and shortness of breath as well. I had an ECG done on Thursday which showed my heart rate was too high so I have to wear a monitor for 24 hours so they can track it further and get an scan done on my heart. As for reasons they said it can just be one of those things that happen in pregnancy but in my case they think it is anxiety that is causing it. I hope it is nothing serious and you can get some answers today.

Like Nelle said, low iron can cause some of those symptoms. I am glad you're getting it seen to

Doc said nothing wrong with my heart. I have an ear infection again (had one just last week). The antibiotics should help my chest cos if untreated could turn into pneumonia.

Before I got pg again I was having regular heart palpitations. Nothing showed up on the ECG by it would come and go. Blood test found that my iron levels were extremely low so could definitely be a factor if they keep happening. Hope you feel better soon

Happy to say the heart palps have stopped but now along with my ear infection(s), I have this awful cough that I can't shake. It makes me cough so much that I have been vomiting for the last 3 days. Is there any kind of medicine I can take to stop the cough while I am pregnant or is trip back to the doc back on the cards? I really don't wanna have to go back again.

I took Duro-Tuss cough medicine when pregnant. I had a terrible cough that left me vomiting (and wetting my pants!). I couldn't move without having a coughing fit. The pharmacy assured me that Duro-Tuss was alright to take. There is a dry cough and wet cough formula and it did help.
