    Do men get eternity rings?

DH and I will celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary in September. I'd like us to exchange something special and was wondering if men get eternity rings? Or, is there an equivalent I can give him? What would it look like, and where would he wear it?

DH and I discussed getting then for our 10 year anniversary. At the end of the day though, he doesn't wear much jewellery so we decided against it.

I'd found a really nice simple gold ring (to match wedding band) with a small rectangle panel of brilliant blue sapphire. It was very nice, but wasn't something he'd miss not having, if that makes sense.

But we both had an engagement ring - just cheap patterned metal ones.

    No
But you don't have to follow the 'rules'

DH doesn't wear much jewellery either, so maybe it's not such a great idea. What else can I get him? I'd like for him to have something tangible...

    Does he wear a watch?

A watch? A tattoo? Something on his key chain?

DH has a wedding band tattooed on his finger under where his ring sat. Initially it was because he took his ring of for work (electrician) but now he has arthritis in the joint of that finger he can't get the ring on at all so it's nice that he has the tattoo... but he's a tattoo kind of guy.

We got something both incredibly tangible, and incredibly intangible. We got something from the TEAR gift catalogue - they're a group who partners with local communities in developing countries, to drill wells, train midwives, reforest arid areas, start fish farms, create self help groups, build schools, etc.

We picked something together which is going to help thousands and thousands of people over the next 5, 10, hopefully 100 years

    Works for us.

I suggested a tattoo, but DH is not the tattoo type. He has a gorgeous watch, but doesn't wear it, so I'd hesitate to get him another.

We could definitely check out the TEAR catalogue....good idea.

    Hmmm, any other suggestions?

I second the watch idea, but my DH is a watch man. Had one engraved when he became a Dad, it's his most prized possession and he wears it everyday

I gave my DH one before he gave me one. But he wanted to wait till he could afford something nice. What he had made cost triple what my engagement & wedding rings together cost lol, which in comparison to what people pay for wedding bands still isn't a heap..

But Yes, MY DH has an eternity ring but I don't think he wears it that often as he gets dermatitis on his fingers.

He also got his nipple pierced as a "eternity" for me on our "been together"ten years. He took it out after a year or so though as he didn't actually like it. It was just for me.
