Hey all ,
We have 15 day old baby lambs and the day after we got them, 8 days one started getting a gunky eye then it spread to the second eye and now I have to clean them daily, it's like conjunctivitis in kids, now I know this is pink eye in animals but it defiantly doesn't look like that. It's just crusty all around the eye.
Was just wondering if anyone has had this problem?
TIA
Hi - my dads dog gets conjunctivitis and he uses drops brought from the chemist. Not very "responsible pet owner" of him (I told him to not be a fish & take her to the vet) but the drops do seem to work. Have you tried flushing the eyes out with warm salt water?
You will need to get some Terramycin Pink eye spray. It comes in a spray can and it will go on blue, so they look bloody terrible but it is the only thing that will clear it up otherwise they will go blind. You can buy it at any livestock supply store or even online. You need to make sure that you hold their eye open when you spray it. Salty water won't do a thing to clear it properly.
