    First time kitten owner help!

So tomorrow we're getting a kitten, very excited but I have never owned a kitten/cat before and have a couple of questions...

So far we have a litter box and litter, a make do bed until she grows a little, toys, bowls, scratching pole and some canned kitten food. Is there anything else we need?

What do kittens like to eat? Do they really like milk or is that just a myth?

How do I go about toilet training her?

Anything else I need to know about kittens?

    Thanks!

How exciting! Sounds like you have everything covered, maybe a nice brush?

As for milk, no don't give her straight cows milk. It upsets their stomach. There is special kitten milk you can buy from pet shops and supermarkets which she will love! The best food you can give them is the specialty dry food from the pet shops, it can be pricey but is best in terms of their health and longevity

If she starts scratching the floor pop her in the kitty litter. Keep putting her in there regularly, when she has eaten and when she wakes up. Cats are very clean and she will probably get the hang of it pretty quickly.

    First time kitten owner help!

Jaycee I have 4 cats, 2 of which are new kittens. I always thought they should have milk until recently. My bigger cats started throwing up from drinking the kittens milk (wasnt cows milk) so I talked to the vet and they said that the kittens are perfectly fine with water so i stopped their kitten milk. Mine seem to be thriving the same as my other 2 that did have it.

I agree with hestia with the toilet training, is very easy to teach them, just make it accessible, I have mine with their food at one end of laundry and cat litter at the other. They tend to make this cute little cry noise when they go in circles when they need to go, mine even did that when they were in the little doing circles till they found the right spot in the litter.
If you want the kitten to be cuddly I found with ours by picking them up for quick little cuddles every day they love people and love their cuddles, mine are completely indoors so I don't know if that makes a difference.
I hope you enjoy having your new kitten, I absolutely adore my little furbabies and wouldn't be without them. Enjoy.

No advice but congratulations. There is a good reason that cats rule the internet They are awesome, if only because no outfit is complete without a little bit of cat fur.
