Currently looking at options for possible relocation and wondering what other areas of Brisbane would be good for our family.
Hubby will work central but not always in the same location, he's in a wheelchair so good rail station close to home is required.
We are wanting 5 bedroom single level home.... Lived in Goodna, Springfield and family in Forrest Lake but don't need to be near them... My dad lives on the Gold Coast and would prefer to visit there more often but again don't mind...
I live on the outer north of Brisbane (45 minute drive to the city, 45 minute drive to the Sunshine Coast) and I wouldn't recommend where I am unless you are after a cheap rental. Its not the best area.
I've also lived in Nundah, Kurwongbah and Stafford - which are all on the north side and are ok - Kurwongbah/Strathpine/Petrie are all ok areas to live I think. Nundah is closer to the city and I don't know what its like now, but back in 2000 it was pretty crappy lol
I know most of the Brisbane members on here live on the south side, I've always preferred the north for some reason!
We are thinking about it.. :-) nothing set in stone but while up here hubby has made mention to the Brisbane office that he would be interested if the position became available... and seen as they have nabbed him for the last two weeks and have another 3 weeks back here in a couple more.... they have work for him if need be... might be a few months away but just an idea rolling at the moment :-) house hunting is very daunting due to our requirements and I haven't had to look for something wheelchair friendly before :-( I like the fact that down in Canberra taking him to and from work is only ever a 20 minute drive.... here it's an hour :-(
