    hammock for a 6month old?

Was thinking of trialling DD in a hammock, for day sleeps and maybe early evening. She only sleeps in my arms during the day and I'mgetting a bit over it, and she is waking a lot early evening.

Is there any hammocks that are better for older babies?

Are there babies that don't like hammocks? They are expensive if she isn't going to take to it.

I wanted to hire one to try it but it appears no places in Victoria hire them? Does this sound right?

Saffy, check out Amby Hammocks - user Trish sells them & she is a MPM from memory. I know they don't hire them out to try but there is the option of refunding money if you are not happy or something like that from memory. Send her a PM & she will give you all the details GL

Definitely an Amby. We love ours :-) sometimes you can get good second hand ones on eBay.

Trish will def be able to tell you where you can hire one.
I put DS in one at 5 months. He loved it....for 8 weeks. Then he wouldn't get in again.
I would have loved to hire one for DD2 but there is def no-one where I live that does it (hire places are hard to come by where you're remote lol).

Must have ready mind Saf! I've been googling this exact thing for my DD who wakes constantly unless she's in my arms/bed.

Didn't think about hiring, might google some more!

I love the hammock for when kids are little. I had to stop using it for DS when he would wake, sit up and 'surf' in the hammock from side to side. if your child is not as physical, you mightget longer use out of one.

I would love to hire one, the hire places don't list them, and the one that does- when you click on 'hammocks' on their home page, it takes you to a 'this page doesn't exist'- I'm worried they don't hire them anymore after the sids scare. I'll have to ring tomorrow and see whats up.

HotI- shes a very active baby during the day, just not in bed at this stage, she doesn't roll in bed, just flaps her legs up and down.

I'm looking on gumtree at the moment, at least if she doesn't like it, you can resell pretty easily I guess.

Definately need something, she woke every hour last night!
