Any advice on mild(ish) hip pain? If I haven't moved in a while it feels like my hips are sort of locking up. Then when I move they crack loudly and a little painfully. Even just standing up from sitting more than twice an hour makes me walk funny now I wish I knew where my tubey belt thing was from Amelia, I reckon just lifting bub and belly up a bit would help. What can I do until my next midwife appointment? Any short term solutions until then, or long term ones I can use so I can tell them I've had the pain but I'm on top of it?
ETA: In case it's important, my hips are also a lot less flexible than usual :-/ Usually I can sit froggy-legged and rest my head on the floor, now I can hardly put my knees down let alone my head all the way there

Can you get to a swimming pool? I loved walking laps of the swimming pool when i was pregnant, i took DD with me and would swish her through the water. Helped me to stretch out everything.
I had tubigrip with DD, and then bought some from a wahm with DS and then bought some stretchy material from Spotlight and made some myself. Towards the end i was also using woven type long scarfs to support my tummy, so if you have a woven wrap you could experiment with that.
Oh, I missed both replies somehow, I was about to bump this I've already started looking into a swim membership, the stupid centre doesn't have prices on their website so I have to wait for them to call me back Haven't had a chance to go in yet because of DH's shifts at work.
I've hardly been able to walk properly today Getting out of bed was awful, sitting at hospital last night (thought I broke a finger, no break but some tendon damage) really screwed me over. Add to that an incredibly overactive toddler, and I'm lying on the couch trying my hardest not to move too much...
It sounds like PGP/pelvic instability to me - is it just that you don't think it's SPD, or you don't think it's PGP either? I have found my SRC support shorts a lifesaver - I went from barely able to walk and seriously considering that hubby would have to go on carer's leave as I couldn't cope with the kids, to moving around quite well. I still need to be careful and I'm achey at the end of the day, but it's SO much better than it was.
I'm also doing a physio-run exercise class which I find brilliant. Activates all the core/glute/thigh muscles that hold your pelvis together and it honestly feels like I'm wearing a corset for 24 hours after! Everything's all engaged and stable. Then bit by bit I lose power and go wonky through the week! Wish I could afford to do it three nights a week - pelvis would be appear and it could well save th life of my poor flagging pelvic floor.
Hope you find something that works for you. xo
With dd2 I had spd and also my sacrocrilic joint (sp) was out of alignment the sj joint caused me to walk funny I kind of had to lift my leg to the side it could go forwards normally. I saw a physio who helped ease the symptoms but couldn't realign it until after she was born. The usual things that help spd like walking gently/moving around and the belt made it worse as I needed rest.
