Help your children get to sleep

My dd has had problems getting to sleep to the point where some nights she will be awake for 90 minutes after going to bed. We had an appointment with a psychologist last week as DD had witnessed an incident that had caused her some anxiety which was getting worse instead of better. The counsellor gave her some guided imagery meditations for kids and dd has listened to them every night and is asleep in 15 minutes.
A miracle in this house! LOL. I noticed the lady who does the cd has some free iTunes downloads. Her name is C hristiane Kerr so check them out if your children need help sleeping.

Great advice, Anney! Both of my kids have found listening to CDs at bedtime really helpful for getting relaxed & ready to sleep. DD1 likes audiobooks but DD2 will opt for a combination of stories, guided meditations, and restful ambient music.

The other thing that has made a huge difference in this house was when I changed all the light bulbs in the living areas & bedrooms to the warm daylight colour, in a lower wattage. This seems to have helped everyone in the house get more & better sleep. We also adjusted the tv to be less bright and less blue.
