Can anyone suggest a good moisturiser that helps with the appearance of age? I am 37 and I reckon I look old! So many creams claim they help, but does anyone know of any that actually do assist?
TIA
Feed your skin with rosehip oil. Apparently it's Miranda Kerr's beauty secret (like she needs one!!). Anyway if its good enough for Oflando to cuddle up to, it's good enough for you and me!
What is your skin type? Fine or deeper lines? Do you have sensitivities?
Lancôme Génifique works for my forehead, but nowhere else. Vitamin E cream on the eyes. Body butter on the lips. Anything on the cheeks causes spots, so that doesn't happen. Some soaps can increase the problem too.
I also reckon it's normal to start to get wrinkles in your 30s and love that my face reflects my personality in the lines.
Doesn't matter. A $200 moisturiser is no more effective than a $5 one.
I like moogoo because it has a minimum of chemicals and Olay total effects because I have been subjected to a lifetime of Olay advertising.
A more effective beauty regime is 8 hours sleep every night, lots of water and enough exercise to make you sweat a few times a week.
An even more effective regime is a few well placed units of botox and some fillers.
I swear by a book called 'Skin Type Solution' to help find products suitable for your skin.
I personally use Aesop. And rosewater for a toner.
I have been told the range at Aldi is amazing and made by same lab as Guerlian.
Agree with a previous poster, diet, water and sleep help.
To really dig into the wrinkles you need to rebuild the health of your skin. so you need lots of moisture, like some rosehip or other nourishing face oil, and if you have really dry skin, a rich cream layered on top of that. You also would need something that looks after the skin cells- look for products with stabilized vitamin C (as in air tight packaging as C as sensitive to air and sunlight), copper, and B3, also known as niacinamide. For any of these ingredients to be efficacious they need to be in high enough concentrations.
Older skin also benefits from vitamin A or retinal, as it peels and renews skin but it can be potent so it's recommended to only use every second or third day at first and build up tolerance.
Gentle exfoliation a couple of times a week is also good for keeping skin looking fresh.
Keeping in mind once they're there you can't remove wrinkles! but you can soften their appearance, and make sure that new/renewing skin is supported.
Keep well hydrated I reckon. Also, have really oily skin as a teenager. :s My mum told me I'd appreciate it someday. Also, no facial expressions.
(And to be slightly more helpful—I use a Gaia cleanser, toner and moisturiser; hits the sweet spot for me in terms of relatively natural, fairly light (although there's a more moisture intensive one), isn't sticky, and is pretty cheap. I like the smell of their exfoliating scrub too, just don't scrub too hard. #rookiemistakes)
Read the Beauty Myth. Your skin won't look better but you will feel better about it without being stung big bucks for a cream that is scientifically proven to do nothing much at all.
