How much would you be prepared to spend on a 2nd hand Wedding Gown?

    Would $1000 be too much?

    Depends on style and designer.

And how much it was brand new.

(I only spent $340 on mine brand new though but it was simple no name designer. I'm not one for designer or name brand products though)

Yep, agree depends on style and designer. Some dresses are well over $5k brand new, so $1k second hand would be quite reasonable if little alteration was required.

It depends on the gown. For a vintage gown by a respected designer in good condition or for a gown with a lot of detail it would be a very reasonable price.

For me personally, I bought a dress off the rack for about $80 to get married in so obviously I wouldn't spend 1k on a wedding dress but for someone who wants a special day and a special dress then 1k might be reasonable.

Yep, could easily be reasonable. I bought a $60 maternity dress lol (I was 37 weeks pregnant), but for someone who wanted it sure, why not?

Like Beatrix, I think it depends on the gown itself.
Mine was several thousand new, and custom-made. If I were to sell it, it would be for well over a thousand dollars - the fabric itself would be worth that alone. LOL

More than reasonable if its a couture design. I remember being horrified when I went looking for a wedding dress years ago at a very exclusive place in Perth and the one I'd seen in a magazine and fallen in love with was a mere $12,000!!! Hmmm. Perhaps not that one for me then . . . If I sold the one I did end up buying for $1,000 whoever got it would have a bargain.
