Once-off house cleaner

With two kiddies the housework is getting on too of me. I never have time to get everything I want done to the standard I want done. I'm considering getting someone in for a few hours to do a bit of a catch up for me. Has anyone had anyone do this for them? If so, do you have any idea of how much money I would be looking at for this service?

I'd try a big franchise like VIP or similar.

Last time I enquired it was around $80-100 for 2-3 hours.

Yes I have done it, I cannot remember how much I was charged. I think most cleaners offer a once off 'spring clean' type service, as well as the bigger companies, I usually use Absolute Domestics.

i am just about to do this! well, we are doing it for the next 4-5 weeks while we sell the house...i just cannot keep it up to that standard with three small people behind me creating havoc.

we will be paying about $65 a clean...we are inner melb and can use the asylum seeker resource centre cleaning service. they are super nice

I have done this 3 times. The first two were my pre-baby gift to myself. I wanted a really clean house when I came home from hospital. And the last time was exactly the same as you, three kids and everything was on top of me so I outsourced the spring clean.

I had two cleaners (husband/wife team) for 3 hours and it cost me $200.

Yep, I'm considering something like this as DH and my Christmas gift to ourselves ... a 2 person top to toe clean will be about $200 for my house (inside) and if I want the yard all weeded and the gutters done, will be another $300 so I think it will just be the inside.

Thank you for the info about the asrc cleaning service. I've posted it into my fb page and a friend is already going to use them. What a great social enterprise.

do they travel, or do they just do stuff in town?

I'm about an hour out of the city, and I wouldn't want them to be imposed upon for one job, if it's not something they usually do ...
