    Ivf and excercise

    Hi all
I'm new to this forum but due to start my first IVF cycle in a couple of months. I am wondering if any of you have an comments on IVF and excercise. I am currently recovering from laproscopic surgery to remove a fallopian tube and the lack of excercise is getting me down. I do boot camp everyday and run a couple of times a week but get the feeling this may not be possible or advisable while undergoing IVF. Have any of you got an experience with this?
    Thanks

    Hi and welcome!
I don't think there's any reason not to exercise, though you may want to look into pregnancy-friendly options for the second half of your cycle just in case! Good luck!

    Weclome to BB Iona.
I don't imagine there would be any reason you can't exercise but you could probably put it on a list of stuff to ask your nurse.
The drugs can cause some symptoms that might make you feel less inclined to workout but you could probably take it easy at those times.

I carried on exercise while undergoing IVF and throughout my pregnancy. Nothing high-impact, but lots of walking (which just got slower and slower) and light weights at the gym. Remember to look after yourself first and foremost - mind and body. Do what feels right and don't push yourself too hard.

Welcome to BB and wishing you much love, peace and hope on your journey.

    Hi there,

When I went through my IVF last year I was advised to not undertake heavy exercise, as lots of bouncing etc can put undue strain on your ovaries, as they are hopefully going to be full and heavy full of follicles. During IVF your ovaries fall downwards already with the weight of your follicles.
This was the advice from my RE!
    I hope that helps!

    Welcome to BB Iona!

During my cycles I have continued walking (usually do about 4km run each morning) but as your ovaries get bigger than normal from the drugs the discomfort can be pretty bad & all the up & down just makes it worse. I found getting on the exercise bike was ok but only at a slow pace. Was told not to go too hard to elevate body temp too much as well.

    Good luck in your journey!
