    Fetal tachycardia

I'm 33 weeks today and at my last doc appointment (Tuesday) it was discovered that bubs has an abnormally high heartbeat. I also had a slight fever and had been feeling a little unwell. I was reddened to the midwives at the hospital on the Friday for a ctg where bubs heartbeat was monitored more closely and still the heartbeat was abnormally high and jumped around a lot. I then got a blood test done to see if I had any infections which has came back all clear. Has anyone else had this in their pregnancy and what did it mean for you.

DD had this 3 days before going into labour and then was the reason why after 17.5hrs of labour and no progress that we ended up with a ceaser, that probably doesn't help but I never had monitoring before then so don't know if I was a constant thing or not.

My eldest had tachycardia after my waters broke at 28wks. I was being constantly monitored anyway and he arrived at 30+1wks. The Drs said that it was caused by stress as his heart rate was within normal ranges prior to my waters breaking. It's hard to say if it caused any issues as such as he was born with a severe infection and being 10 weeks early needed interventions anyway. I can say that after the first 2 weeks his heart rate did drop back in to normal ranges and he's had no ongoing heart issues (he's 6.5 now). Hope that helps a little, good luck!

During the pushing stage my first had tachycardia. I apparently had a low grade temp as well. Anyway they have her Iv antibiotics for 24 hours in special care nursery incas e she had an infection of some sort. Blood tests came back negative and they stopped treatment. She did have a small hole in her heart though so maybe that's why they were overly cautious with the antibiotics.
