    Our One and Only IVF

    Hello,
So I have a question for all of you. My husband and I just had our IVF transfer on Tuesday 9/10. This is our one and only attempt at IVF due to our financial restraints. Here's a little background on me. I'm 32. We've been trying to get pregnant for over two years. In the past we've tried naturally, Follistim shots with timed intercourse, and IUI. We've never had the slightest hint of a positive result. It has been physically and emotionally draining as I'm sure all of you are all to aware of. I've been told my my Dr. that I have PCOS with >100 follicles per ovary. For as long as I can remember I rarely got a period naturally. I was on birth control for a very long time. I have used Provera in past cycles to induce a period.
So we finally saved enough money to give IVF a shot. Due to my overwhelming amount of follicles the group decided to be very careful to avoid hyperstimulatuon. I started taking the Provera and Lupron and 14 days later I got my period. I was started on Gonal-F at 150. It was switched to 75 a week or so later due to high estrogen levels. There was really no activity until we switched to Follistim. Eventually they saw 4-5 mature follicles and triggered me. 3 days later they did the extraction and the results at first were very exciting. They retrieved a total of 32 eggs. Unfortunately only 5 were mature, and only 3 fertilized under ISCI, and only two began to divide. At day 2 we had a two cell and a 6 cell. The grade is unknown because they never let us know the grades. At that point I was scheduled the next day for a day 3 transfer. I began to take IM progesterone the night of day 2. Finally the day of the transfer was here. They transferred two embryos, one was now a 4 cell and the other an 11 cell. The doctor seemed very positive about the 11 and said the 4 was a day behind.
I'm continuing the progesterone and I start Vivelle dots tomorrow. Here's my question. Has anyone had any luck with and 11 cell and a 4 cell?? I'm terribly nervous and anxious because this is pretty much it for us....

I wish you all the best with this cycle.

Have you tired to include natural therapies along side this treatment. Many IVF practitioners recommend acupuncture and TCM to assist.

    5 years ago I had a 4 cell embryo transferred 2 days after EPU - today he is a happy/healthy 4 yo

Wishing you the same success - We only had 4 follicles, one was empty, and only two of them were suitable to fertilise - only one of them actually fertilised successfully. We did not have high hopes. However, it only takes one, embryo quality is much more important than quantity so don't worry too much that you only had two fertilise
