My skin has been really itchy lately and my eczema has flared - actually its probably been the worst its ever been. Any recommendations for natural skincare that can help my dry itchy skin? Thanks.
Prescribed steroid creams are the only thing that controls a flare-up for me. Once it's under control, I use sorbolene to moisturise, and avoid all soaps, detergents, etc. A lot of people find coconut oil useful, too.
What Pholi said...a bad flare up needs steroids to get it under control, then lots of moisturiser (I use sorbolene too). Avoid hot baths and showers, pat skin dry rather than rubbing them. Oatmeal sock in the bath I find is nice too. Don't get overheated, so breathable fabrics.
Control any hayfever or asthma too as I find they go hand in hand. I've got all three atm
Agree with the PP's.
Aslo cooler showers and short as you can manage, eat as much omegas as you can, drink lots of water. They also say making sure you aren't too warm at night can help.
I find sorbolene actually aggravates my skin (we use no petroleum based products) and have found great success with an avocado based moisturiser.
