    10 weeks - brown discharge.What should I do?

Ive had 2 normal pregnancies with no bleeding at all. Im 10 weeks with #3 and ive just wiped to see a brown discharge. What should I do? Wait to see if it gets worse?

    Thanks all xx

Mm maybe a wait and see approach would be good for now... Depends, what is your gut telling you to do? Discharge and old blood is common in pregnancy and doesn't always indicate something is wrong.

Have you had sex recently? I remember injuring my cervix one time in pregnancy from dtd that caused some blood when I wiped.

No sex recently.. no cramping or other symptoms.. feeling nauseous and can feel my uterus above my pubic bone now. Saw HB at 7 weeks 3 days on a scan.

First OB appt is on thursday so I guess I should wait until then if nothing changes

I did have quite an active day yesterday. I walked quite a lot and it was warm. Lots of standing around too. Could that have something to do with it?

going to the loo for #2 can also cause some vaginal bleeding.

hope things settle down for you.

ETA - yep, extra activity can move old blood or irritate a little bit leading to bleeding.

Brown has changed to a very light pink and now I have some dull very light cramping. Im hoping this is just cos I over did it.

I would ring obs rooms in the morning and tell them, they may get you in earlier for a scan to put your mind at ease.

I would get checked out... unfortunately I had the exact same thing at 13 weeks and another pregnancy 8weeks and both times had a MC. I know other people have had same symptoms and it was nothing baby was safe and sound. After 2 mcs I can't sit and wait it out any more.

Rest up, ring your obs. Maybe tell work you have gastro and cancel your trip?

I had this with dd2 and over doing it made it worse. It lasted a week and no reason for it as far as anyone could tell.

Blackrose I hope you are ok, it is a scary feeling. I echo what the others have said, rest, put your feet up, you've rung your OB which is great. I would cancel that work trip regardless of the outcome, it might be a sign to slow down and give your body time to catch up, recharge, refuel for you and bub.

I really wouldn't worry, stress can do funny things to your body. I had the same at 13 weeks, brown discharge which turned light pink, a little cramping and went for another scan and all was fine, my boy's 4 months now. Having that scan and seeing the heartbeat really helped. Postpone and get some rest and have a scan for peace of mind

Hmm I think stress from seeing blood would also cause cramps which would make the stress worse then the cramps worse. When I'm nervous or anxious I always feel it in my uterus, pregnant or not.

Update. .. no more spotting overnight and the cramping is gone although feeling hevavy down there but I think that's just normal pregnancy belly feelings. Will get advice from my OB today re my work trip and see her on thursday unless she thinks I should come in earlier.

Thanks again all. Will keep you posted

    Hello!

I spoke to my OB this morning and managed to get in for a scan at noon. Baby is well. . Measuring correct for dates and a beautiful HR of 185bpm. The bleed has come from a sub chorionic hemorrhage. . So it just needs to be watched over the next few weeks to see it doesnt get any bigger.

    I am so relieved.

Thank you to all of you who responded... you gave me such comfort and support xoxox
