Help getting 5 year old to sleep

My DD started kindergarten this year and it seems to have occupied her mind more than wear it out. Some nights she will fall asleep at 7:30 minutes after going to bed other nights like tonight she will lay in eared and still be awake at 10am. How to I help her swig off? Does anyone have any kids meditation ideas and examples?

    Thanks

My DD is 4 and loves some meditation tracks by Christiane Kerr ( on itunes) - they are floating in the sea, in space etc type things all about drifting off. I quite like them too.

Thanks I'll look them up and give them a go. Unfortunately she is like me and finds it very hard to switch off a lot of the time.

No personal experience, but teaching social skills at school we'd talk about things like a worry jar/box that you could put all your worries/thoughts in before bed time and they'd be safe til morning. Alternatively, she can tell a special teddy about her worries and teddy can look after them. Then top to toe meditation/imagination, where you imagine yourself in a special place and gradually relax each body part in turn (I'm sure you can Google for a much better explanation!)

The Christiane Kerr tracks all have some form of 'worry box' thing in them sometimes is a tree sometimes a shell etc, and do the head to toe stuff too so sounds like that is a popular method.
