Significant muscle separation and inability to cough effectively.

After DDs birth I had a separation of more than a hand width. By 4 weeks it had reduced to less than 1 finger width but I still cannot cough effectively.
I dont have any pelvic floor issues and everything seems fine otherwise but it is very annoying that I cant clear my throat. Especially since I have a cold at the moment.

    Is this normal?
    Will it improve over time?
    How long?

Im supposed to visit the physio in the next week but not sure I'll be able to get there..

Did your Doctor know you had a cold? With absolutely no grounds at all, I would assume that not being able to clear your lungs could cause bigger problems. I think that seeing your phsyio needs to be a priority for next week.

I can cough but it feels like a half cough. The cold is only new but the odd time I have needed to cough previously it has been the same.

Boo. Its a group session sometime on thurs - I have to find out when - and Im not supposed to take ds. Maybe I can try to make a separate appointment..

Was hoping someone would say it's normal and will improve over time. Lol
