    Alternative to the pill

Is anyone using the pill or an equivalent to reduce the length of AF?

I don't want to go on the pill if I can avoid it but I'm tired of having AF visit for 8+ days on a 28 day cycle.

Just saw a gynaecologist about similar yesterday. She is recommending the mirena. Still need to do some reading on it. For me I am getting 23-25 days cycles and soaking though super tampon in 2 hours, so I want to reduce the amount and increase length of my cycle.

I highly recommend seeing a TCM/accupunture, I've been seeing once since having mirena taken out, my periods were initially heavy but are light now, too light in fact, we're trying to increase them lol.

I have had the Mirena in now for about 8 months and rarely get a period anymore! If I do it's a little bit of spotting but not really worthy of anything but a thin liner. The pill use to make me emotional and crazy! I feel normal with the Mirena.

I have fibroids - have read that the mirena can't he used in that instance. Will check with the GP though.

Hadn't thought of acupuncture. Might be the way to go.

    <3 my mirena.

Another option is to skip periods on the pill. There are new varieties that are designed to only have a breakthrough bleed every 3 months or you can just use the old ones and skip the breakthrough bleed by skipping the suagr pills.

Nuva ring was great for me. Mirena messed with my body heaps.
