    What needs fixing?

What thing/s need fixing at your place? Inside or outside, big things or little things? Why hasn't it been done already?

The day is not long enough for me to list all the things that need doing in my house.

My house needs painting on the inside. Lived here for 17 years now and has only been painted the day it was built.
My backyard really needs to be cleaned up.
I'd love to rip up all the current bulbs and stuff in our "garden bed" and start again to tidy the area up.
I'd like to try and get some actual grass growing outside and not weeds.
We still need a small amount of cementing done.
We'd like a TV antenna on the roof.
The lino in the main areas need replacing.
We need new bench tops in the kitchen

The main reason why these things have not been done is $$$$
My backyard is a mess because my husband likes to hoard. I did manage to get a trailer load to the dump a few weeks ago but you can't really tell where I have been.

We try to do something every tax time if we get enough money back. With the help of some amazing friends last year we got a new oven, cooktop and finally a rangehood. We also got a new TV so we didn't' have to watch a green picture anymore.
This year was a new fridge because I had put up with a leaky one for about 5 or more years, we also brought a new cupboard for the kitchen, and re-did our lounge room floor.

Next tax time my aim is to paint (my step dad has offered which will save $$$), and if it allows the new lino. The back lawn (weeds) is currently a work in progress.

Not a lot needs to be done, but there is plenty I want done! My husband is a fantastic handyman and not a procrastinator, so if something needs fixing, it gets done very quickly. I did notice that a couple of weatherboards need replacing, but not urgently so we will get onto that when the weather is warmer. The stuff we want (as opposed to need) to do hasn't been done because of either time or money.

Our house is only 7 years old, we bought it 2 years ago. But it still needs fixing, there are things the previous owners did that we're not happy about.

First though is the backyard - there isn't one, the house goes from veranda, through a huge paddock of weeds to the back fence. We do now have the dirt and loam spread and leveled for a real backyard
The carpet in the kids rooms and office needs replacing. It feels horrible to walk on and is stained. For some unknown reason there is a big square cut out of the carpet in the middle of DD's room, it was hidden by the bed when we came to look at the place.
Our room and DD's room needs the cornice and wall fixed where they've wall mounted tvs. When we looked at the house the tvs were unplugged, we didn't know and assumed all cords went through the wall where they were mounted. Turns out the cable comes down through the cornice, and the power cord has to be plugged in on the opposite side of the room, run across the floor and up the wall. Looks so stupid!
There are holes in the kitchen wall by the fridge where they'd put up an odd ugly ill-fitting spare cupboard. Our fridge and microwave wouldn't fit with it there so we took it down, not very neatly lol.

The main reason for not fixing things is money. Though I guess some of those things aren't that expensive, I guess we haven't cared quite enough just yet.

Like Tinks, would take days to even begin to list it!

We are only renting, but sent off a long list of things we would like fixed.

Things I would love the land lord to do though are, repair the walls (her ex was a violent man and punched walls. All have been patched, but very few were re painted and all seem to be on feature walls) and repaint the whole house in 1 wall colour/1 ceiling colour. Air conditioning or as a minimum fans or evaporate cooling even though I hate it. New clothes line. More kitchen cupboards and new blinds in 2 of the kids rooms
