When an ear piercing closes over

Can you just get it re-done with a gun at a hairdressers or somewhere?

Some time since Saturday (I had earrings in then) my left ear has healed together. It was a bit sore and had a fair bit of dry skin in/around it which I stupidly picked at. What I think has happened is I've kind of opened it up on the inside and it's healed together overnight. There's absolutely no hole there, no matter how you pull it there's no hole for anything to go through

I definitely want it re-done, is just having the gun again alright?

I'd go to a piercer and get then to look at it, then repierce with a needle if it's completely closed.

Much less traumatic for the earlobe than a gun.

I'm surprised it healed over so quickly! I have mine out for at least 2 or 3 weeks and can still find the hole.....

But I had mine done 28 years ago.... So.... Maybe it's just cause I've had them longer...

I'd go to essential beauty or similar and get them to have a look, needle is probably the better way to go

Is it completely healed back and front? I remember as a teenager I left my earrings out for ages and the back slightly closed over (probably only a couple of layers of skin). I picked a pointy pair of earrings and went through the front (where there was still a clear hole) and just poked my earring all the way through. It's probably not recommended, but it was fine after and since!

Lol Chody I did consider that! The front is definitely closed but was going to get DH to have a look at the back. Mainly because I'm surprised how fast it happened too, but I think it's because it was 'open' in there so able to come together. The other side is fine and I've gone much longer without earrings before. I was hoping I could just go with a gun - that's how it was done the first time and I could get it done much quicker that way, like tomorrow. Might look up some places that could have a look at it.

Turns out it wasn't actually closed! I was trying to see the back and the front started coming away. It was just a bit of dry crusty type skin covering the front completely. I got rid of that and put in a pair of sleepers right away. Now I'll have to make sure I stop picking and leave it alone!

    I wondered about that

Glad you sorted it out. I actually I put my earrings in today and it was a bit tight. It's been a week

I would have felt like a bit of an idiot turning up and asking for it to be re-done
