    Treatment for heat-induced pimples

DH is after some help. His face is quite prone to pimples but he looks after his skin well and they generally stay away. The problem comes when he has to work in certain areas in the heat.

He does machinery maintenance in a glass factory, and near the furnaces it gets seriously hot - today it's 45 there, and one section they're periodically trying to work on is 73 degrees. They take measures to try and keep safe and they're not in there long, but it's sweaty and dirty and dusty and it makes his forehead break out.

For some reason that's the only area, maybe because of his hat? His mate gets it on his back. Anyway, his entire forehead is bright angry red and just covered with big pimples. There's not a single part that isn't affected. He gets embarrassed by it and he puts cleanser etc on there like normal, but because he doesn't want it seen he's constantly pushing his hair down over it which I think can only be making it worse.

So I'm trying to get him to keep it uncovered and not touch it, but what else can he do?

Oh yeah, I had this last week. I think mine is from heat plus touching my face because my skin gets itchy. I used a mineral clay mask one evening which calmed the blighters down a lot so I would recommend trying that. Another product that works well is skin doctors zit zapper, which is an overnight spot treatment full of good things like tea tree oil and salicylic acid. In the past I've washed my skin with Manuka honey (put it on dry skin with dry hands) and that works really well too.

Thanks MD, I'll get a mask today and have a look for the it zapper - he actually mentioned that one this morning. Thankfully for the rest of the week he shouldn't be going near the hot area and next week we're on holidays so hopefully it'll clear up!

Ok, well I hope he gets some relief - quite apart from how it looks it's very uncomfortable.

Last night I remembered witchhazel. It's an awesome soother and v. good against breakouts & sunburn & heat rash, so I reckon that would help a lot too. Just wipe it on after washing your face.

I put the mask on it last night and it looks better, less angry. He reckons it feels better too so that's nice Thanks for the advice, I reckon once he finishes tomorrow it'll clear up well over the next few days.

That's awesome. I took my own advice (again) and did another clay mask but this time I used a pink clay one - omg I cannot believe the difference!!! It was one of those little sachet ones so now I need to work out whether I can get a larger tube of the stuff.

I love those ones! I got a tube though because unfortunately this happens quite a bit. They're going away better this time which is good, because he's been worried about scarring if it happens too much.
