    Feeling frustrated..

This is only our first attempt at IVF but we are not new to the idea. We have been TTC for 5years. The doctor put me on provera to start a bleed,I stopped taking it on Sunday, so it's been 4 days, what if my period doesn't come???? It's only the beginning and I already feel 'Hopeless'... Why can't it just work ffs...
Sorry about the rant I'm just feeling so angry.

Hey guys!! I will be starting orgalutran ( the second injection) soon and the needle is a lot bigger. How much more does it hurt??

    Re: Feeling frustrated..

My first orgalutran of every cycle gives me a BAD heat rash for about an hour.

I won't lie to you, orgalutran hurts more that the FSH injections (puregon, gonal-f) but after a few days of doing them, you'll be a pro and it'll hurt less.
    Good luck!

    Re: Feeling frustrated..

I don't find that it really 'hurts' more, but it has a VERY blunt needle so you need to really push to get it through your skin :/

I also come up with a little lump after each injection which is quite itchy, but i've been told this is a totally normal reaction.

Let us know how you go xxx

    Re: Feeling frustrated..

It does feel a bit more uncomfortable going in, like previous poster said, the needle is quite blunt & needs a bit more pressure to pierce the skin. But once it's in, it's fine. You can feel it a bit more coming out too, bit of a weird sensation (not painful!). I found it stung a little for 5 mins after, but again, not painful. All the best for your cycle. : )

It gave me a lump and an irritated itchy rash where it was injected for an hour or two after.

Good luck with your first cycle.

    Re: Feeling frustrated..

I found the first time I used second injection I got lumpy rash but since then I've just wiped top of syringe with alcohol Swab and I no longer get the rash now when using it. Know the frustrated feeling though. 13 days of stimming and follicles still aren't ready

    Re: Feeling frustrated..

In all honesty the second needle didn't even hurt any more than the pen injection it was just tougher to push through.

I went in today to have egg retrieval. They got 4 eggs with 2 mature. They will call me tomorrow to let me if they are splitting into embryos.

    Re: Feeling frustrated..

I've just been reading your thread... am a little nervous about the 2nd needle starting tomorrow... 1st time at IVF the gonal-f isn't so bad but the nurse tells me the next one is harder because it takes more force... Gulp! Was expecting really bad PMS type symptoms but so far so good just having terrible bloating/gas pains since starting the injections is that normal? Feeling positive & hopeful...

    Re: Feeling frustrated..

I didn't find the orgalutran any worse than the gonal-f. The needle is a little bigger, but it didn't hurt more and was no harder to do (for me anyway). I did find that it would sting a bit for about 30 minutes afterwards though.
