    Physio before lap surgery?

I received my preadmission pack from the gynae today. I am having a lap in April for endo, had one 5 years ago and had level 4/5 endo removed.
In the cover letter it said that he recommended having a physio appointment prior to my surgery. This wasn't discussed during my appointment and I certainly didn't last time.
Their office was shut by the time I was home from work, so until Monday, I was wondering if anyone had heard of this before? Can't think what it would be for.

No idea, as I didn't have anything like that before mine, but it know when I had DS2 (2 months ago), I saw the women's physio for perineal ultrasound. They listed a whole page of 'women's physio' stuff that they could help with too - pelvic floor, prolapse. They also hire tens machines...maybe it's for after-op advice?

Don't know, didn't have any after op issues last time. Haven't had a baby so no issues with pelvic floor, prolapse, etc so I am quite puzzled!

ETA I just did a bit of googling, it seems that there is evidence that Physiotherapy can be quite beneficial with reducing pelvic pain associated with endometriosis. Interesting.

It's an interesting theory. Maybe it's more to do with your post op recovery in terms of preventing it coming back or extending the length of time between lap surgeries? Probably worth looking into further though

Just an FYI you can have pelvic floor issues and prolapse without needing to have kids
Does sound interesting though how it can help with endo, been seeing a pelvic floor phsyio and it is really quite amazing how that whole region works.
