Just had my 6 weeks postnatal checkup and the ob says I have a tilted uterus. I didn't quite catch what he said, but I'm pretty sure he said retroverted. It's only happened since childbirth to dd2 because on his notes he said it was the opposite or normal before.
He wasn't concerned about it and said it will probably go back.
Anyone had this? Does it go back? How does it happen?
My uterus is retroverted (assumed it happened from pregnancy as was not noted down at first u/s with ds1)
It hasn't changed still tilted (with rest of pregnancies I had to have internal scan in early stage for dating as they were not able to see or get a clear picture)
I know it went into place as pregnancy progressed but pp back to being tilted.
So in my case it hasn't corrected itself but maybe for others it does?
I hope someone can be of more help xx
Mine has always been tilted. When I was first diagnosed, my gp said when I get pg it might fall back the correct way. Don't know if it did or not.
The only serious thing I could find about it is sometimes when you are pg at about 12weeks when your uterus starts to grow out from behind the pubic bone it can get stuck. But keeping an empty bladder helped fix it.
The other thing might be different is your cervix might point in a different direction because of it. Which doesn't really mean much either
Oh yes TT40 you reminded me, when I was around 9-10 weeks pregnant I would have trouble weeing with a full bladder and would have to sway and rock around for 5-10 mins before anything would come out. Then the next week it was fine. Once out from behind the bone....
My uterus is retroverted and it hasn't caused any issues. My biggest gripe with it was that I didn't look pregnant until I was about 6 months along as bubs was all up in me squashing all my organs instead.
It has always been like this and childbirth and pregnancy didn't change it. I don't think there are any major medical issues associated with it so you should be fine
