    Varicose veins

So after DS2 was born, I suffered with superficial thrombophlebitis - inflammation and clots in the superficial veins of my legs.

That all seems to have resolved but I've noticed every now and then I get a really sore patch somewhere on my leg, which then turns red and a bit swollen, then darkens and turns into what looks like a bruise, but I know it's a varicose vein.

They are popping up everywhere. Do I need to be concerned??

I had the same thing early in my last pregnancy but it didn't get any worse, I would mention it to your gp and go for another ultrasound to be certain.

Do you bump them? Even slightly? Mum had them badly and just the slightest knock would set of swelling and bruising. She ended up having them removed as they were leaking. I'd have a follow up with the GP just to make sure everything is okay.

I don't know if we need to be concerned. But you're in good company.
Mine are awful. DS calls them my paintings. They hurt. Like hell some days.
Before I had the kids they were already starting to show through years of standing as a nurse and a cop. Now they're spectacular lol.

Miss S they only seem to hurt when they are first appearing. Maybe I bumped this area before and that's what caused it? Dunno. Might ask the CHN next week.
