Could I be fertile already? (10 weeks post partum)
Lochia ended about 7 weeks postpartum, just spotting in the end. But since not long after that I've had lots of non-offensive discharge and in the last week it has been very slippery like ewcm and pre-fertile fluid, but not stretchy- and more cloudy. Today though it had been very very like fertile cervical fluid. My libido had been high for a couple of weeks- with DD1 I had zero libido until two cycles after my AF returned which wasn't until 8 months PP. I'm exclusively, demand breastfeeding and DD2 doesn't go more than 6 hours without feeding overnight ... Though there have been a couple of 7 hour stints.
Has anyone else exclusively - and frequently - BF but still had AF or ovulation return early on?
Re: Could I be fertile already? (10 weeks post partum)
It's possible. With DD1, my period arrived right around 6months. With DD2 it was like 2months! I was tandem feeding, around the clock. I don't know if also feeding an older child affected things or what but yeah, felt a little jipped!

I exclusively demand bf Spock, who never went longer than 3hrs between feeds, i got af back straight away, like clockwork never missed a beat. Im not 100% sure i was furtile though, as we have male factor and cant fall pg naturally so i never actually used contraception or paid close attention cause falling again wasnt a stress we had. When Spock was 1 i had a trial cycle to see if i was ovulating and it said i wasnt.
But it is entirely possible i know a number of women who have fallen with a bub under 3months. If your unsure and dont want to take the ridk, use condoms, and discuss with your gp about sutible contraception
Re: Could I be fertile already? (10 weeks post partum)
My cycle was back to normal by 6 weeks post birth. I was exclusively breastfeeding. I have had friends get pregnant about 6 weeks after having a bub. A good friend has a nine month age gap between her two, due to second coming a few weeks early.
So if you think your cycle is back and you are not planning another bub right now, best to use birth control.

I had cycles of what you are talking about from about 8wks post p... but I didn't start bleeding again until she was at least 10 months old. Everytime I had the discharge I was convinced I would bleed again in a few weeks but it never happened. Just be safe incase you are fertile!

Yes, absolutely possible. St Kilda Mums are trying to source a triple pram for a family with newborn prem twins( born at 28weeks) and the family have a 7 month old too.

Bugger. Looks like it is fairly common. Mums with more than one bub- did AF or some part of your cycle return at approx the same time with each baby? Or all over the place?
Re: Could I be fertile already? (10 weeks post partum)
AF was back for me around 6 weeks with girls and at 4 with ds. Each time I was still exclusively breast feeding and also expressing for top ups. My pp stopped almost immediately with dd1 (c sect) and around two with ds so I knew it was AF.
Re: Could I be fertile already? (10 weeks post partum)
I had that with DD1, would get patches of EWCM for months then got AF back at 8 months. I guess at first I thought it was ovulation and AF was on the way but after it kept happening I figured it was just a post partum/BFing 'thing' that just happened to look like fertile CM
Anyway I think it is pretty common, I have read lots of girls on forums describe a similar thing.

Hello. at 8.5 months postpartum I think AF is returning. Around same time as with DD1. True period cramps today and spotting. DD2 has been fussy at the breast the last two days. Plus my nips were excruciating last week- very hard breastfeeding! Was hoping AF would stay away longer though.
Re: Could I be fertile already? (10 weeks post partum)
Only 8 weeks pp here and I have ewcm so expecting AF in 2 weeks. I am bf with no more than 5 hours between feeds and those are few and far between. I was 3 months PP with DS1 too
