Hi I have has icis once and failed was just reading up on it and came across this on a Sydney internet page which has really scared me has anyone heard this before ;;;(With ICSI the scientist picks the one he/she thinks looks good, but there's a lot you can't tell about sperm by just looking at them. There is some evidence that ICSI might results in more birth defects but the science is inconclusive - they basically haven't been doing it for long enough.)
ICSI has been done for many thousands of births, and if it is still inconclusive that it results in more defects, then it can only be a little tiny minuscule amount more.
Hiya yes it is true but I don't think it increases the chance of defects hugely. For what it's worth, I have 2 year old icsi twins and they are perfect. Best of luck to you
