How to and how long to get a referral from GP?

Dears,

My wife and I live in Adelaide, we intent to consult Monash IVF specialist. But we find the first step is to get a GP referral. We don't have GP. Is it easy to get referral? What kind of GP can issue this and generally how long can I get this?

Hi and welcome

I'm in NSW and assume all is the same where you are but we encountered no problem getting a referral to a FS after 12 months of TTC. Any GP can provide one. A referral generally lasts 12 months.

Any GP, but in order to do ivf you would have been told by someone you need it? So will they do one for you? You can just ring and book at your local clinic and specify it's for a referral so they can make the appropriate time slot for you
